Chapter 18 - Chapter 16: Meeting CL4TP / Claptrap Part 1

I had made my way back to Fyrestone and deposited my gains back in my ship, and the mountain base operation was going smoothly as well.

The Bandits were doing their usual raids on Fyrestone with the stolen Outrunner vehicles from Scooter's Catch-A-Ride station.

I dealt with the Bandits quite quickly since I used my Invisibility module in my armour, that allowed me to cloak and enter perfect Invisibility like Zer0. I prowled around and slit their throats or decapitated them in a single swing with my monomolecular blade dubbed 'Muramasa'.

When that was done, I began evaluating the analysis progress and intel Lyra has gathered so far on analysing the Eridium.

In terms of rarity, my gear would be of the E-Tech rarity.

The rarity beam that exists on weapons is actually real canonically in the universe.

A gun company that was made by two brothers, S&S Munitions. They were a company that made weapons with a high magazine capacity with a saying that if you have to reload, then you're a dead man. After the events of the first game, they no longer made gun, most likely due to competition but switched to prioritise S&S Accessories.

One feature of S&S Accessories was that they introduced the beam effect a weapon would emit when dropped and the rarity tier.

This is most likely a visual module built into the Echo devices, and since not everyone would wear head gear. The Echo HUD wouldn't be present through their visual origin. Hence a possibility that the visual module of S&S Accessories in the Echo device would emit a type off invisible pulse effect that would come in contact with the gear in the surroundings and radiate a visual beam of the item rarity. That is the canonical reasoning given for the rarity visuals.

As for the rarity levels they are:

Common — White / Light Gray

Uncommon — Green

Rare — Blue

Cursed — Cyan / Light Blue

Epic — Purple

E-tech — Magenta / Bright Pink

Gemstone — Violet / Purple

Legendary (Low Tier) — Yellow

Legendary (Mid Tier) — Orange

Legendary (High Tier) — Dark Orange

Glitch — Pink / Salmon

Seraph — Pink / Salmon

Pearlescent — Light Cyan / Aqua

Effervescent — Turquoise / Teal

Gemstone is a none existent rarity since it is only found in the fictional game DLC in Borderlands 2 of Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon's Keep expansion.

Meanwhile, Glitch rarity technically exists since it takes place in the The Pre Sequal, Claptrap's DLC which takes place inside Claptraps digital mind. And its mentioned at the end if they are able to keep the items they earned inside the digital world of Claptrap's consciousness, and it turns out they can. Hence it's known as glitch rarity.

My gear is currently of the E-Tech level which is still classified as Epic rarity.

I was currently on the rooftop of the Fyrestone Motel when I saw a strange sight which made me want to laugh my guts out.

And I was just thinking about the trashcan himself, what coincidence.

This is justice!

Claptrap was being chased around by some Bandits for fun.

**************

I watched as Claptrap got chased by the Bandits, who kept shooting near his single wheel.

I was seriously deciding my life choices right now.

Should I 'let' or 'not let'.

After 15 minutes of watching Claptrap pitifully try to evade their gun shots, while failing successfully on his utter bullshit of a 'Luck' stat he had maxed out.

Seriously, he must have Domino's mutant Gene of unbelievable 'Good Luck'.

Deciding to go with the latter choice and 'not let' him die.

I simply took out Muramasa and activating my Directional Shield that formed from my vambrace akin to a hard light construct. I charged at the bandits with swift efficiency as my monomolecular blade had essentially became the real HF Muramasa blade itself, and on par or greater than Zer0's enhanced blade in Borderlands 3.

Muramasa sliced through metal, their shields, flesh and bone with effortless ease of its cutting capabilities and my own enhanced physicality.

"Watch out behind you!" Claptrap screamed

Huh...it seems Claptrap was useful for once.

I was already aware of the two Psychos who tried sneaking up on me with my HUD having a red sensor indicator warning me of the targets behind me, that and I have a partial mini camera at the back of my helmet, with a display in the corner of my HUD. Allowing me to see at all times 360° around me with zero blindspots.

I made sure to constantly monitor my surroundings with it at all times.

I pull out 'Shadow' my sidearm tactical handgun to shoot the head of one Psycho while I kick the other who tried jumping at me with a Buzzaxe.

I rushed up to him and swung Muramasa down vertically upon him.

The result was the head being so cleanly severed that it had not separated until I touched the body. The ground where my Muramasa struck, was completely gouged out due to the strength behind my strike.

I stored all their corpses into my System Space and turned to face Claptrap.

"Hello Claptrap" I greeted the robot.

He wasn't that bad of a guy or well robot, just had a few screws loose, also Shadowtrap is inside him so there's that too. Wonder if he'll have to be dealt with like the original at the end.

"Oh! Thank goodness! I'm saved! Thank you very much friend. Say, how do you know my name. Have we met before? What am I saying! Of course we have. You're my long lost apprentice! Don't worry, your master forgives you for your long absence. Now together, we shall retake Fyrestone from Nine-Toes men and overthrow Sledge and make me the new Warlord of this region!"

Tsk!

Maybe I should have 'let' him die.

I so badly want to shoot that fucking mouth off!

Where is his voice box!

I need to "rearrange" some things in his circuitry!

"I am not your apprentice. Although I do know about four of your 'Long lost apprentices' that will be arriving soon." I told him while barely keeping a straight face at the prank I'm pulling on the Vault Hunters.

Hahaha!

Good luck dealing with this shit you four!

"Truely?! Very well then. I will patiently wait until my grand army has arrived and I can help to free my fellow brethren from their mistreatment! Say, you haven't introduced yourself yet."

Shit!
