Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Changes and Friends

Ravens PoV

When I woke up, it was fo a splitting headache and a soreness all over my body, but mostly my chest. Blarely I opened my eyes and narrowed them at the bright light.

Sitting on a couch was Giratina and my Pokemon, they were all watching tv. Some kind of reality tv or something, my head hurt too much to care.

"Lower the brightness." I mumbled as I buried myself under the covers to hide away just as a weight landed on my chest, it was my dear little therapist and dragon slayer.

"You're awake!" She said happily as her ribbons pulled the blanket off and pulled me up, I groaned and let her pull me up as the tv was turned off and Giratina stood before me with narrowed eyes before nodding his head as if expecting something.

"Your soul is sore." He said and I blinked in confusion. My team did the same.

"His soul is sore?" Koraidon asked in confusion.

"Yes, his soul is, I don't want to say enhanced, it's not, but it's something more. Greater then an average humans, stringer perhaps. It can take more strain, normally a soul doesn't get strained, but he used the power of divinity and he needs to recover as his souls gets used to the presence of divinity inside of him." Giratina said and my pokemon just stared at him in confusion.

"Ok, look at it like this. Arceus is a True God, so thus he possseses True Divinity, the power of a god, in the form of his plates. Raven possesses two, now three, of those plates. The divinity belonging to Arceus now prelates through his body, slowly changing him in unknown ways. Nothing harmful, but he can wield the power of creation the same as Arceus, however because it's not originally his divine power, his body and soul need to adapt to it. Instead of slowly making his body and soul used to it, he just went beyond maximum and gave everything he had, thus straining himself."

More dumb founded looks and I decided to help.

"I tried to life a weight to heavy for me and hurt myself doing so." I said and they nodded in understanding as Giratina sulked in the corner now.

"So you aren't dying?" Koraidon asked worried. I hugged my beloved dragon softly and rubbed her head.

"No, just sore and hurting, I'll be fine soon." I assured them as I slowly made my way around and hugged each of them to reassure them.

"Hey Sulky, what did the moon give to my little ghost? This crescent moon mark on him, kinda kills the style points." I joked and Haunter cackled softly, a soft genuine sound compared to his regular one. Soft and unusual for him.

More therapy for us all, hooray.

"Ah that, she granted him her blessing, the blessing of the moon, of a ghost type legendary. In the light of the moon, Haunter will find his power enhanced, and during the day, he may even draw upon the power of the moon stored in the mark." Giratina spoke and Haunter look distressed.

"Haunter, are you effected by this power, mentally." I asked him softly as he floated in front of me, and I watched curiously as he floated silently before his hand touched his forehead, his dark fingers tracing the spot of the mark before it was engulfed in darkness as his form seemed to almost waver and become unbound, like how he was as a Ghastly.

However, he suddenly roared out as his body grew slightly larger and reformed properly, the mark on his forehead gone as he panted softly before grinning as a more familiar cackle escaped his mouth.

"Impressive, most impressive." Giratina smirked as he chuckled softly, which was basically a full out laugh for him.

"What did he do?" I asked, all pain forgotten as I used the basic knowledge I've managed to self teach myself in aura to check my connection with Haunter.

"He focused on the blessing attached to his soul and consumed it, absorbing it into himself. I expected he would do so after evolving, but you and your Pokemon seek to live for breaking rules and expectations."

"It will not be harmful right?" I asked worried.

"Not at all, only thing harmed is Lunala's pride and ego after being injured by you, and then her blessing absorbed by Haunter so early on." Giratina said and I chuckled at that.

"Good, now, I'm going back to bed. Wake me up later." I said and made my way back to bed as the pain returned, and I happily embraced unconsciousness.

"Sleep well Raven, many trials await you, and more rules for you to break." I heard a soft whisper as I fell asleep.

•~~~~~•

The next time I awoke, Giratina was gone and I felt much better, now I only felt like I over did leg day 4 days ago instead of the next morning.

With a soft grunt I opened my eyes and looked around, now without the pounding pain and blurry eyes, I could look around properly, I was in some kind of hotel room?

"You're awake!" Oh no, I knew what was coming. All 51 pounds of fairy dragon slaying power, straight to the chest.

"Ugh." I groaned as I was slammed back into the bed I was on, standing happily on my chest was Sylveon with a happy look as her ribbons wrapped around my arms and she rubbed her head against my cheek.

"Yes, I'm awake, unfortunately." I mumbled the last part as I sat up, careful of my little fairy. The other three sat in the room and were looking at me happily. I made my way around and hugged each one of them.

"Now, can anyone tell me where we are at?" I asked and Koraidon stepped forward.

"Lord Giratina said we were in Saffron City, at some Luxray Hotel, whatever that means. He said the room is paid off for a week, till Friday? What is a Friday? Why is the hotel called Luxray?" I racked my brain for hotels named after the electric-dark cat, but nothing was coming to mind.

"She means a luxury hotel. The room is paid off for another four days, it is Monday." Rotom helpfully explained and I nodded in understanding at that. Thank you for Rotom Phone.

"I see, I'm going for a walk, but first a shower." I decided as I headed into the shower, twenty minutes later I was back in the room, and what a nice shower it was, and found myself staring at three pokeballs and Haunter floating there with a shit eating grin.

I knew immediately what had happened, mostly because I could hear the four idiots, my four idiots, but still idiots.

They had started arguing over who got to stay out and walk besides me on this walk, and like my ghost does, he cheated. He had returned the other three to their pokeballs effectively winning the argument.

"You're such a little shit." I said with a chuckle as I started changing into my regular clothes. Nothing to crazy, black running shoes, black pants, my belt with magnetic spots for my pokeballs, a long sleeve black shirt and a dark blue and black jacket. I also grabbed my sunglasses.

"Let's head out." I said with a smile as I swiped the key I noticed on the bedside cabinet, and moved out the room, Haunter following behind.

•~~~~~•

"This town is normal as ever." I said with a deadpan as I looked around. Though I was glad for this, I did not want to deal with some weird psychic bullshit that caused like some weird dramatic fog to appear.

"You new to the city?" Someone asked and I turned around to see a kid.

"Yeah, any recommendations to visit?" I humored the kid, and he smiled.

"Yeah, my friends and I go to this spot across town, there is a cool battle area to train!"

"Oh? You have a pokemon you little squirt?" I asked with a teasing grin on my face. The kid puffed out his chest as he grabbed a pokeball from his pocket and held it up as a Pokemon was released.

"Pidgey!" The bird flapped its wings as it flew around briefly before landing on the kids shoulder.

"Cool, I'm sure you and Pidgey here will grow strong." I said with a smile.

"Yeah! We will become the strongest and become the Pokemon master!"

"No I am!" I blinked before turning around to see… oh boy, time to meet the protagonist.

Black and white running shoes, jeans, short sleeve black shirt, blue-white and yellow jacket. White and red cap, and the infamous lightning bolt z's on his face, and of course the most famous part, Pikachu on his shoulder.

"Ash Ketchum I told you to stop running off and-" Misty, or so I assumed she was, yelled, but cut herself off as she saw myself and the kid, who was now taking the moment to slowly slink away with his pidgey, yeah, best to avoid this craziness kiddo.

"Well hello there." I grinned amused as her cheeks went a little red, but my eyes narrowed on the person behind them, slowly making his way up, his eyes narrowed, but when were they not, as well.

"Brock." I said in a cold tone as I walked forward and stood just a couple feet apart from him.

"Raven." Brock said in an equally cold tone.

"This feels scary." Ash said surprised to hear such a cold tone from Brock. Misty also seemed shocked, or still stunned, not sure which.

"My man!" I grinned breaking the tension as we did a manly hug, I nearly chuckled at the two relieved sighs I heard behind me.

"It's good to see you Raven, and in good health?" Brock asked and I chuckled. Because I can't just say I was throwing down with a legendary personally a couple days ago and still felt sore.

"Just sore, pushed through a little too much on a workout." I laughed it off, and Brock nodded in understanding.

"Glad to hear, no team member with you?"

"Haunter is hiding about." I grinned as my shadow seemed to grin before Haunter floated out of it and uo to my shoulder height.

"Oh my, he is looking extra strong. He is giant compared to normal Haunter's, you two must have done a lot of training." I grinned as Haunter cackled, because how do you explain your super ghost absorbing a gods blessing through pure spite and willpower?

"You look strong, let's battle!" Ash said excitedly and I grinned at him feeling a need to battle rise up in me, a life long dream to fight Ash Ketchum.

"Alright, I'm down." I grinned feeling confident. Ash started running, Misty took off after him, while Brock and I took our time.

"Go easy on him?" Brock asked with a smile.

"Of course I'm going to go easy on him."

•~~~~~•

I lied!

I'm gonna go almost all out, because let's be honest, reincarnating into an anime world and not at least beating the protagonist at least once is heresy.

Especially in Pokemon!

"This is a battle between Ash Ketchum of Kanto and Raven Inanis of-" Brock paused and glanced at me, and I shrugged my shoulders, because I ain't got no starting town to pick. "Just Raven Inanis then. This is a full on battle, both will throw at the same time, the loser is whoever surrenders or all their Pokemon faint first. Throw!" Brock finished and I grinned as I rubbed my hand over my first pokeball.

"Pidegotto!"

"Haunter you little shit!"

I chuckled as Sylveon, my cute little Sylveon, cursed out Haunter, and it was quite impressive.

"Calm yourself Sylveon." I ordered and she immediately focused as her body tensed in readiness. "The first move is yours." I called out to Ash.

"Pidegotto use [Quick Attack]!" Ash ordered and I simply remaind quiet as Sylveon reacted with a simple [Protect] followed up by a [Swift] that knocked Pidegotto out the sky.

"Pidegotto are you ok!?" Ash called out worried and I smiled seeing the genius worry. It was one thing to see in the anime, but in real life is another thing.

"Pidegotto!" They flew up in the sky with a strong flap of their wings, and I smiled.

"Sylveon." I ordered simply.

"Got it!" She said and she suddenly dashed forward in a pink blur of energy, a simple fairy type enhanced [Quick Attack] landedand knocked the bird pokemon into the ground unconscious.

"Pidegotto is out!" Brock called and Ash recalled his avian and sent out-

"Squirtle!"

"Oh no, a little unevovled turtle. Whatever will I do?" Sylveon was being way to dramatic, she must be hanging out too much with Haunter and Koradion.

"[Water Gun]!"

"Smack it away." I ordered simply in response as one of her ribbons started glowing silvery before it reached out and smacked away the [Water Gun] attack.

"What the!? How did she do that!?" Ash demanded and I chuckled.

"It was a simple use of [Iron Tail] on a different part of her body then her tail." I replied simply as everyone looked on shocked, was that such a weird thing to do? Once she had learned to use the move normally, I had simply had her try and replicate the process on her ribbons channeling that steel type energy, and it worked, though it did take a while.

"Doesn't matter, Squirtle use [Water Pulse]!" Ash ordered and I simply stayed quiet, even with Ash calling out everything, Squirtle still telegraphed its movement and aiming. Sylveon easily dodged out of the way of the attack.

The only reason to tank an attack was for maximum fear energy, and I wasn't trying to draw out fear, I just wanted a battle against Ash Ketchum, a nice casual one sided battle, but I didn't want to demoralize him and his team. Though I might end up doing that anyway, hopefully not.

"Sylveon get in close and use[Bite]." I ordered as she dashed forward.

"Oh no, what do I do!? Wait! Squirtle use [Withdraw] and then start spinning and use [Water Pulse]." Ash ordered and I smiled, it was good to see some of that battle creativity in him in real life.

"[Dazzling Gleam]." I ordered in return as the large flash of fairy light completely bypassed and erased the attack and slammed into Squirtle sending him flying back towards Ash and unconscious.

"Point Raven!"

Thank you Brock for the obvious comment.

"Come now Pokémon Master Ketchum, if you expect to fight in the big leagues, you need to do better." I said with a grin as if I could, I would be using the move taunt.

"Go Krabby." Ash called out and I hummed. Perhaps I should help Ash learn a lesson early on, loosing doesn't mean he can't grow from it. Both him and his Pokemon.

"Sylveon, knock it out." I ordered.

"Got it!" She said as her body glowed with fairy energy and used [Double Edge]. The attack landed nearly instantly sending the crab pokemon flying back and immediately going unconscious.

"Who will you send out next? Pikachu, some other pokemon to lose to my little fairy?" I asked mockingly, on the sidelines I could see Misty's angry face, but Brock had an understanding face, this was a lesson Ash needed to learn.

There was always someone stronger, and sometimes defeat could teach you a lesson. I needed that lesson partially, as you know, I've yet to loose a full battle. Oh I'm sure if we faced a Gym Leaders strongest team we'd lose, but this isn't about me right now.

"Bulbasaur go!"

"Again and again, Sylveon show them." I ordered and she happily complied as she used [Quick Attack] to get in close and then used a point blank [Swift] on the grass turtle.

"I'm not going to loose!" Ash yelled determinedly and tossed out his Charmander, a future powerhouse and legend who could fight legendaries and win, but this wasn't that beast, no, this was a little fire lizard with trauma.

"Sylveon play defensively. I want you to push the little Charmander." I ordered with reluctance, I can see Charmander is close to evolving, and I want to see that push happen myself. Will the potentially evolved Chameleon go rouge and wild, or will he listen to Ash?

"Got it dad!" It was still unusual to be a father, especially when I thought if I had any children, they'd you know, be a human, or a dog, but I supposed a fairy pokemon isn't too far off from a dog. This one just comes with less drama of having a daughter and will listen to me more. Plus she won't want to go clothes shopping.

"Smack it away." I ordered Sylveon as Charmander got close to her and she smacked him away with her ribbons, no move power, just her regular ribbons.

"Charmander are you ok?"

"Charmander!" The little fire lizard seemingly roared as it roughly stood back up and then roared as it started glowing a bright white light and I smirked, my goal worked. After ten minutes of messing around, Charmander was evolving.

"Charmeleon!" They roared and fired a [Flamethrower] into the sky, and it was admittedly powerful. Still though-

"Blast it away!" I ordered as Sylveon cheerfully made some kind of sound and fired off a fairy enhanced [Hyper Voice] in return, and Charmeleon took the whole brunt of the attack, and to my surprise stood back up and roared angrily as his flaming tail grew larger, and I knew immediately this was his ability, Blaze.

"Your Pokemon is remarkably strong Ash, however, will it succumb to its rage and fire, or will your bond prevail? Can you and Charmeleon handle this?" I asked with a smile.

"Charmeleon are you there!?" Ash asked and I spent the next five minutes letting Sylveon place dodge the raging fire lizard as Ash attempted to calm Charemeleon.

•~~~~~•

"You did it! Now let's win this!" Ash said excited as Charmeleon roared and released an even more powerful [Flamethrower] at Sylveon who used [Protect] to block it.

"Well done you two, but you still have something to realize." I smiled before Sylveon blurred forward and landed a painful [Double Kick] to the face knocking Charmeleon unconscious.

"You did great Charmeleon. Go Pikachu!"

Hey everyone, it's been a while. At least for this story. It's been nine months since I published a chapter for this story, I'll be honest though, I'm not too happy how I went about this battle against Ash.

It was and feels extremely rushed, there is dominating the fight, and then there's just pure bs, which this feels like, I've written the right five times, and sadly this is the one that is the best, and it's still crap, and for that I apologize, but if I don't publish the chapter like this, it won't ever get done.

So I've decided to end the chapter here and continue next chapter to finish it off. I've realized how fast paced this story is, and I need to work on extending the storyline, not just speed rush it. So I'll probably start doing more side stories soon to slow down the major plot line.

Anyways, I'm tired and in need of sleep, so until next time friends!

Bye~
