Daxton Lancaster lay asleep in bed. Violet Zimmerman sat on the floor silently crying. Who knows how much time had passed when a sharp cry of a baby woke her. Violet Zimmerman propped herself up from the floor, slowly climbed up, walked to the baby's crib, and picked up the child.
Daxton Lancaster turned on a bedside lamp. Violet Zimmerman put the child on the bed, changed the diaper, and after swaddling the baby, sat by the bed, lifted her shirt, and breastfed the child.
A tightness around the waist, Daxton Lancaster's arm wrapped around, and before Violet Zimmerman could react, the man's choked voice sounded.
"Violet...," Daxton Lancaster's voice was pained, his handsome face buried in Violet Zimmerman's back, "I'm sorry... this wasn't my intention... truly..."
Daxton Lancaster sniffled, his breathing trembled. Violet Zimmerman knew he cried because her back had become damp.
