Eva Hayes always had a loud voice, and her rude demeanor caused a chopstick of celery and potato shreds to scatter across the table.
Everyone looked up, and the smile on Lucy Zimmerman's face stiffened.
Trying to be nice and hospitable, who would have thought this would happen.
The most embarrassed was Aria Williams. It was her niece, and at her daughter's in-laws' place, so she immediately nodded apologetically to the table of people, frowning disapprovingly and reproaching quietly.
"Lucy, look at you, how can you be so grown up and still not know to be careful!"
Lucy Zimmerman jumped up and said resentfully.
"Auntie! Are you blind? I was kindly helping her serve food, but instead of accepting it, she deliberately made a mess in front of everyone, all of whom have eyes!"
"Lucy!" Aria gritted her teeth and gave everyone an apologetic smile, lowering her voice in reminder, "We're not at home."
