As Brando took out the gemstone, a beam of pale grey light shot out from the gemstone, piercing through the mist, as if pointing in a certain direction.

But Brando ignored her and walked forward, with Faina following silently— the light from the grey gemstone was actually a kind of resonance, with the other end of the resonance being within this abyss.
