He silently watched Antitina's 'sleeping face', called up the Travel Mage System, and prayed in his heart that Lord Martha had left him a thread of hope. But when he gently turned over Antitina's corpse, he was stunned.
The staff lady's blood-stained gown was full of shocking tears, as if narrating how ferocious Messika's claw was. But that was it; Brand quickly discovered that he couldn't find any wounds. Except for three long slits on her clothes proving that the King of Hell's claws had passed through there, the skin beneath was white as jade, without a trace of wounds or scars.
Brand blinked, almost believing he was hallucinating. He subconsciously slapped his own face, then tentatively checked Antitina's temperature, feeling for any wounds under her clothing. He was startled to find that Antitina's body was still warm.
He was suddenly frozen in place.
