Marcus Quinn has a reserved nature. Even when he's deeply touched, he won't express it, a typical case of the deeper the emotion, the deeper it's buried.
Miss Tan noticed his intense gaze fixed on her, which truly made her heart ache. Marcus has a wealth of skills, which if placed on anyone else, just having one of them would ensure success and prosperity. But not him; he always believes in diligent work as his duty.
It's unclear how his maternal grandfather raised him; Miss Tan has never heard him mention his parents. She thought if he grew up being pampered by his family, how could Marcus end up working as an electrician in Fountain City? They are both wanderers fallen on hard times.
Thinking this, Miss Tan felt a lump in her throat, realizing she's been fortunate. For over twenty years, her father truly adored her, and later she met Marcus, who is also quite naive.
