Harriet White was standing right next to Evelyn Taylor, and even deliberately leaned a bit closer to her. With how loud Autumn York had just shouted on the phone, she'd heard the two girls' conversation crystal clear.
Autumn was delighted on the other end of the phone, and Harriet felt just as happy. Getting Thomas Fisher and Evelyn Taylor to meet each other's parents separately was something the two women had already discussed and agreed on in advance; she just hadn't had time to tell her own daughter yet.
Without Evelyn's consent, Harriet reached over and directly took the phone from her ear, then put it to her own ear. "Autumn! It's me."
With the other three people present all watching her, she started talking without the slightest hesitation.
Evelyn had just been struggling over what to say to Autumn, and now she was finally freed. She glanced at her mom, who looked rather excited, then left her seat and walked out of the dining room.
