Alice Turner ignored Anthony's somewhat childish words, walked over to the spot she had previously occupied, and sat down. She didn't believe for a second that Anthony wanted to discuss which company to collaborate with.
"Go ahead, what are you hanging around here for?" She looked at him, waiting for him to give her a satisfactory answer.
"Didn't I just say, I'm staying to discuss..." Anthony wanted to firmly insist that he was staying to discuss collaborating with another company, but before he could finish his sentence, Alice rolled her eyes at him, and he immediately changed his tune: "Okay! I admit I just lied."
Discussing collaborating with a company? No way he'd tire himself out with that.
Alice said nothing, just quietly watched Anthony, her face clearly saying, "I knew it."
Seeing that she didn't intend to speak, he continued, "When I came back after dinner, I saw Benjamin Shaw downstairs. He looked so sad. Didn't you and Thomas Fisher see him when you came in?"
