A little earlier, inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Vegeta was sitting in the middle of the endless emptiness of this dimension while he meditated to try to calm his mind and heart, overwhelmed by emotion.
He had been like this for hours, but without producing much result.
No matter how hard Vegeta tried, Weiss and her endless stubbornness wouldn't leave his head.
Somehow, that girl managed to be even worse than him!
After returning from that cursed planet and without turning it into space dust, Vegeta decided to reveal more about himself in a last-ditch effort to make Weiss and even Ruby distance themselves from him, but to no avail.
Even the fact that he had destroyed countless planets and races, as well as his real age, didn't seem to matter to them, so perhaps Vegeta was right about the girls' mental stability.
After the day they'd all had, it wouldn't be strange if they had a screw loose in their heads.
All things considered, Vegeta wasn't much better.
It had been a turbulent day even for someone like him, and not because of the people who had died, which was something that had happened more often over the years than he would have liked to admit.
After all, Vegeta had only been moved to tears a few times in his life and under extreme circumstances.
Being crushed by the reality that he wasn't the Legendary Super Saiyan after being defeated by Freeza and later mortally wounded by the same, had broken Vegeta in body and soul. In the Tournament of Power, what made Vegeta hate his own weakness was his inability to keep a promise to a fellow Saiyan warrior and the possibility of his universe being erased.
Then there was the premature and permanent death of Bulma and Trunks...
No matter how you looked at it, it was obvious that each of these instances was motivated by something tremendous.
Showing just how big the impact that Weiss and Ruby had on Vegeta really was.
Now, he had to make peace with that or keep trying to get them away from him, and the mere fact that he was still on this planet was an answer in itself.
Vegeta already had access to the power of his soul, so he could leave Remnant behind and go to Yardrat to continue his training or return to Lord Beerus' planet, where the title of Candidate for the God of Destruction awaited him along with more divine power. Hell, he could even ask Whis to take him to another universe, like the sixth, where Cabba and Hit were!
It would definitely be quite nice to be able to see Planet Sadala at least once before his fight against Kakarot.
Better still, Vegeta could go to the eleventh universe to meet Jiren and Toppo for a rematch.
Those two were warriors of a tremendous level, especially Jiren, who didn't even possess God Ki, and they should be even stronger now.
As expected, the options for continuing his training were numerous!
Even so, Vegeta was still in Remnant...where a shadow of what he had lost and the possibility of something new lay.
So strong, yet so weak.
There was no other way to describe the kind of mentality and inconsistency Vegeta was displaying.
That's why he was meditating now, trying to find more than just peace of mind and spirit.
Vegeta was looking for power, just like always, but for a different reason.
Instead of protecting his eternal pride, he wanted to protect this new life.
That must be why something had changed inside him during that moment of pure emotion awakened by his desire to live and see what the future held for him; the desire to see Bulla grow up and become everything she was destined to be: a woman smarter than her mother and more powerful than her father.
Now, while his Aura had become noticeably stronger, Vegeta knew that there was more to it than just that.
All thanks to the training he had done back in Yardrat, taking his understanding of his body and power to another level in every sense of the word.
What exactly had changed was the question, and the answer Vegeta wanted was only one:
More power.
Enough so that he could keep on living!
As if it were a response from his proud soul to his purest and most altruistic desire, made all the more so by the sense of self-preservation he rarely displayed, Vegeta abruptly opened his eyes, and a burst of divine energy like no other surged from his body, spreading out like waves of power to fill this entire dimension in royal blue flames!
For a moment, cracks formed in the very fabric of reality, threatening to destroy the space-time of this dimension, reinforced by the power of an angel in the same way he had done back at the Lookout!
Fortunately, Vegeta managed to snap out of his momentary stupor and regain control of this explosion of power as quickly as it had appeared, preventing something even worse from happening to Remnant and the southern quadrant of the universe.
Even so, the blue flames of divine power continued to burn all around as far as the eye could see, in a very similar way to what Jiren and his full power had done to the arena of the Tournament of Power.
Looking at his hands, Vegeta seemed to be in the middle of transforming into Super Saiyan Blue. However, that layer of divine power that represented a metamorphosis and true ascension was not shattering to reveal his body.
It even seemed that this state was his real body!
"What... is this?" Vegeta couldn't understand, being almost hypnotized by this power that could rival that shown by Kakarot in his Mastered Ultra Instinct! "It's incredible!"
For a moment, he felt invincible!
Almost as if Vegeta was the very concept of power!
Unfortunately, it wasn't long before he felt this power draining away at an alarming rate, along with his meager reserve of Aura, and returning to normal.
Although disappointing, this gave Vegeta a clue as to what he had just obtained.
"Semblance..." He couldn't help but let a genuine smile form on his face, it being a rare thing that Vegeta only showed when he ascended to the next level of power. "The unique ability provided by my soul."
An answer to his deepest desire!
"Whis was right." Vegeta closed his hand before his eyes into a fist and squeezed until he heard his bones crack. "This world really does have everything I desire!"
Although he was optimistic about the possibility that the combination of three different energy sources could give him in terms of power, he always kept Lord Beerus' offer in mind as a last resort to surpass Kakarot.
While matching that clown might be difficult, it wasn't impossible. The problem with facing Kakarot lay in the explosive growth in power he experienced during a life-or-death battle.
Vegeta also grew the more he fought, but during the Tournament of Power, Kakarot climbed so high it was ridiculous!
Even during the fight against Moro, Vegeta had managed to close the gap between them and did so without getting a new transformation, but the clown surpassed him again just a few minutes later!
That's why Vegeta believed that the only way to kill Kakarot would be to be willing to die in the process.
Because even if he were stronger, the clown would grow to new heights and surpass him in the middle of the fight.
Now, with a Semblance like this, being able to break out of the limitations of living flesh with so little Aura, Vegeta had a real chance of compensating for Kakarot's explosive growth and winning without having to give up on his life!
Especially if he managed to combine this Semblance with the Power of Destruction.
After all, power driven by instinct was unbound!
Taking a deep breath, he sat down on the floor to resume his training and deepen his understanding of this new power.
"Let's keep going like this until that Wizard arrives." Thanks to this dimension, Vegeta still had more than a full day until then. "To keep progressing."
Just like always.
Thus, Vegeta was finally able to concentrate on something that didn't involve Weiss and immerse himself in meditation.
Once every few hours, when his Aura reserves were sufficiently restored, he made use of his Semblance in different forms to increase his proficiency and revel in the limitless potential that this ability seemed to have.
It was then, when Vegeta was testing his new power with the Super Saiyan transformation, that he felt Weiss' presence emerge within this dimension, and his heart skipped a beat at that.
She's here... Suddenly, all his composure was gone, and a kind of anxiety came over him. Why do I feel like I'm about to face Lord Beerus in a battle to the death?!
It was so utterly absurd!
However, this feeling only lasted until Vegeta felt Weiss' Ki oscillate as she was caught in the increased gravity of this room.
While he knew she was in no real danger under only ten times the gravity, Vegeta felt strangely protective of Weiss.
Just as he had come to be with Bulma.
Then, just as Vegeta was about to help her, he felt her power surge to resist the gravitational pressure and make her way safely back to the small temple at the entrance of the room.
Right, she's not so powerless. A small smile was there again as he remembered that Weiss resembled a Saiyan in more than just her attitude. And she's only going to keep growing.
Vegeta would be sure of that.
The mere prospect of this excited him more than it should have, and before he knew it, he had teleported to Weiss' side.
Vegeta was so immersed in the moment that he had forgotten about his active Semblance, along with his Super Saiyan transformation, and Weiss's cute reaction to seeing him was extremely satisfying.
Especially with what she had to say about his new power.
"You already discovered your Semblance?!" Weiss found herself mirroring Ruby's attitude by being overjoyed at this revelation. "It's only been a week!"
That had to be a record!
In retrospect, however, and considering who was behind this achievement, perhaps it was only as expected.
In Vegeta's eyes, all this was only possible thanks to this beautiful girl in front of him.
After all, Weiss was the one who unlocked his Aura and created the situation that led to the awakening of his Semblance.
"I could say the same about you." Vegeta returned to normal completely, avoiding draining all of his Aura and the discomfort that came with it. "The level of power you've managed to achieve in no more than a week would place you among the low-class warriors of my race."
He could imagine Raditz's reaction to discovering that a young woman from a planet of weaklings had reached his level of power so quickly.
As if being as weak as a Saibamen wasn't humiliation enough.
"That..." Weiss blushed at what could only be a compliment, even more so considering what she knew about Saiyans. "It's all thanks to you."
Without Vegeta, she would never have reached that level of power or even learned about how vast the universe really was...among other things that made her even more embarrassed just thinking about it.
What followed was a moment of deafening silence, with hearts beating faster and faster while two pairs of eyes of opposite colors moved around aimlessly.
Damn it, I can't let it go on like this! Vegeta hated feeling this way, not knowing what to do. Just say something! Anything was better than this torturous silence! "Since you're here, does that mean the Wizard has arrived?"
To his surprise, what she had to say in reply was one of the most powerful blows Vegeta had ever received, straight to the heart!
"No..." Weiss turned away as she played with her long white hair, unable to look him in the eye. "I just wanted to see you."
Even though her face wasn't visible, the reddening of her ears revealed everything.
"I...see," was all Vegeta could say in response, his mind near meltdown! Fighting gods isn't as hard as this!
Somehow, this was even worse than it had been with Bulma!
Probably because back then, Vegeta was still an evil and unsentimental person.
Besides, he never really had to do anything because Bulma was the one who always initiated everything between them!
Especially in the bath, where she always defeated him...
That aside, and as painful as it was to admit, even after being married for a decade, Vegeta was a complete amateur at dealing with women!
What he didn't know, however, was that this side of him was part of the reason Weiss was interested in him in the first place.
A man who is so proud and powerful, yet so innocent! She couldn't help but smile when she saw how red he was in a mixture of embarrassment and frustration. In a way, we have a lot in common.
Especially with how bad they were at expressing their feelings.
While Weiss had been bold enough to confess the day before and even stand her ground in front of an emotional Vegeta, that was done in the heat of the moment.
After calming down, she couldn't think about it without her heart racing and her face reddening with embarrassment!
Even now, Weiss could feel butterflies in her stomach as she became more and more conscious of her feelings and Vegeta's presence!
Somehow, it even seemed as if their bodies were unconsciously drawing closer to each other!
Just then, when Vegeta and Weiss' eyes finally met, and something was about to be said, they heard the whisper of familiar voices.
Looking over their shoulders, they could see the silhouettes of three girls peeking out without a hint of discretion.
"Man, this is so painful to watch!" Yang muttered from beyond the door, feeling a mixture of envy and frustration with these two. "They should just kiss already!"
You know, just like two normal people would have done by now!
Heck, many would have already consummated the relationship and destroyed a bed in the process!
"Yang, be quiet," Blake said to her tactless partner as she kept her eyes on the next scene in her book that was unfolding in front of her. "Don't ruin the moment!"
One that transcended so many stereotypes, such as race, age, and even the universal hierarchy of power!
Too bad Blake wasn't the main character in this story... for now.
Who knows what tomorrow holds?
"Yeah!" Ruby was bouncing almost as much as her happy little heart! "Let Weiss cook!"
Something even sweeter than cookies and chocolate!
"Where the hell did you learn that?" Yang wasn't sure if she liked the idea of her little sister using slang. "Besides, if we just watch and do nothing, Weiss won't enjoy that 'meal' for another year!"
When it was already cold and tasteless!
"Yang!" Weiss was glowing red at the meaning of her clueless teammate's words! "I can hear you!"
Worse still, she wasn't the only one, and Vegeta was dumbfounded at how shameless this girl could be!
"Heh." Yang had a victorious smile, again striking down two nobles with a single line. "I hope you can~."
She might have lost the initial race for Vegeta's heart, but that didn't mean she was just going to cry into her pillow...even more than she already had.
Besides, if her broken family had taught Yang anything, it would be the fact that nothing was set in stone.
If Summer had managed to get her hands on Taiyang after Raven had screwed everything up, there was nothing to say that Yang wouldn't have a similar opportunity one day!
She was in the long game now!
