The words left my mouth as I pulled back to look him in the eyes. I wanted him to know just how badly I needed him.
The physical distance that had built between us over the past twenty-four hours or so felt unbearable with each passing minute. The need to be close to him, to be pressed against his body, to kiss him, make love to him... it was becoming overwhelming.
And I couldn't even begin to imagine how he succeeded in holding himself together when his wolf might be telling him otherwise.
"I want you." I repeated, my voice barely above a whisper this time.
He stared into my eyes for a whole long minute, and then, something shifted in him.
He inched closer, making me anticipate another breathtaking kiss, but it never came. Instead, his lips landed softly on my neck, right at the collar of my trench coat.
