Chapter 47 - Chapter 47 Mortal Boundary

He thought. Reading this book would also help him know and understand the history of the Nine Emperor World better, its foundation, and most importantly, its history. Even though Xiao didn't want to admit it, he was a very curious person.

He loved to read history, as it used to be his favorite subject back in school. It could be said that he was a great enthusiastic historian himself. Also, with this book, he would have a general understanding of this world and its history.

Looking at the other book, Xiao thought.

'Path of Cultivation is easy to understand. But what is the Mortal Boundary? What does "boundary" even mean? Well, I guess I can only find out by reading it.'

As for this book, it would help him better understand cultivation and increase his knowledge of it. And for Xiao, this book was more important than anything else right now. The higher his knowledge and understanding of cultivation.

the better it would be for him. In the future, he wouldn't be ignorant about cultivation realms and their power, avoiding many disasters. There were many cases of cultivators who didn't know the cultivation formula of the next realm.

Despite that, they still recklessly advanced to the next realm while completely ignoring everything else, causing their cultivation base to explode on the spot. So having proper knowledge about the cultivation stages and not being ignorant about them was an important thing.

Another important aspect was knowing how powerful a cultivator was at each stage of cultivation. Xiao was rather curious to know about that. Without a proper understanding of how powerful a cultivator was at each level.

it would be simply courting death if someone took action against a person with a higher cultivation and got instantly killed by them. Or if a young disciple accepted a mission where the target possessed a much higher cultivation.

Let's say a Transcending Mortality Realm cultivator or a Demigod was their target. If that disciple didn't know the means and methods of a Demigod, then only the Gods knew what fate awaited them.

Because the higher the cultivation, the weirder and more bizarre a cultivator's methods became. In fact, it was so terrifying and sinister that Xiao shuddered just thinking about it.

'Just like in those novels where higher immortal cultivators have numerous terrifying spying methods and bizarre means to take over someone's body, along with other annoying methods of revival. Dammit, without a proper understanding and information about your enemy and their cultivation level, dealing with a higher cultivator is simply suicide. And even if someone actually succeeds, then the price and injuries would be too heavy, and it would be a nightmare to do so.'

Xiao was really glad that he had been adopted by his aunt and now had such a great background to help him out and give him many free resources.

'Otherwise, I would have been dead if I had happened to be born into a mortal family or with a weaker and humbler background, and some bastard with a higher cultivation took a fancy to me and decided to devour my soul and cultivation, or even worse, enslave me or refine me into a living puppet.'

He almost got goosebumps just thinking about what his fate would be if such a thing actually happened to him.

'Ah, hell nah. I won't even think about it. Now that I remember, some people say that some particular cultivators have some very weird and nasty hobbies. No! Dammit, Xiao, stop thinking about this crap and focus on the right thing.'

He stopped thinking about such stupid thoughts and focused on the matter at hand.

'Anyway, with those two books, I am fine for now. After finishing my Awakening Ceremony, I will come back here again to check out all those remaining things.'

What he currently needed to know the most was knowledge about cultivation. As for the rest, he could always come back here again to check them out. After all, the things he needed in this library were not going anywhere.

Even the knowledge about the world's history was not that urgent. But as an excited child who loved history, Xiao didn't want to miss the chance to learn it.

The young librarian had been looking at him nervously this entire time. Her hands were clenched tightly in anxiety and fear, as though she would have a heart attack in the next moment. The young girl was feeling so much pressure facing the mysterious and cursed prince that,

she might cry out of fear or faint on the spot. But luckily, to her surprise, the prince didn't wait any longer and simply looked at her and asked.

"Can you show me the entrance to the next floor?"

The young librarian fearfully nodded.

"Y... Yes."

Then she led him toward the entrance of the upper floor. Walking alongside her, Xiao looked at his surroundings and thought.

'This place is too crowded. I need somewhere quieter. I hope the upper floors are not this populated. It would be best if they were completely empty.'

The reason he asked the young librarian was because he didn't want to stay in this crowded place for too long and waste his time. After all, they had already spent a good amount of time on this floor finding these books.

If he happened to stay here for much longer, then it was only a matter of time before someone approached him to strike up a conversation. Currently, Xiao was not in the mood for that.

'Anyway, I will socialize with everyone after the Awakening Ceremony. But for now, I don't want anyone to bother me.'

He thought.

'But aside from that, I hope I will find some interesting and informative things in those books.'

Looking at the books in his hand, Xiao felt that he would.

After that, while walking toward the entrance of the upper floors, Xiao looked at the young librarian and asked.

"Ah, I forgot to ask this, but what is your name?"

The young girl almost jumped in fright.

"Hisssssss!"

Seeing Xiao frown slightly in confusion, she answered hesitantly.

"Uh, my name? My name is Wan Qing."

Xiao nodded slightly and asked casually.

"Hmm, a good name. By the way, you don't look like a cultivator. How old are you?"
