Chapter 472 - Chapter 472: Nagini: Wade had called me his comrade!

"Well! Don't worry. Since I'm asking you, I naturally have a way," Wade said confidently. "You only need to take me there and let me have a look."

House-elves who had been driven from their homes or lost their masters often became dazed and listless from excessive grief.

Some older house-elves would even refuse to eat and eventually die because of their overwhelming loyalty to their former masters.

Those who survived, apart from the small number of house-elves who eventually overcame their grief and found other wizarding families willing to take them in, simply lingered on in that same wretched state, hoping that one day their former masters would change their minds and take them back.

These house-elves, all sharing similar experiences and being shunned by their own kind, gradually gathered together and settled in one fixed place.

That was the place Toby feared most of all in the world.

Because these house-elves still longed for their former masters to come back for them, Toby had said it would be extremely difficult for Wade to recruit them.

But Wade had not been bluffing when he said he had a way.

Against house-elves who spent their days dazed and lost in grief, he only needed to make a few subtle adjustments with nightmare magic. Their loyalty could then be redirected toward Wade himself, without even needing to use Puppet Bugs.

"All right, Toby understands... When does Young Master Wade want to go?" Toby asked.

"I'll come find you later," Wade said.

After sending Toby away, Wade entered the temporary wooden house he had built beside the castle.

He had also moved the Vanishing Cabinet that had originally been hidden in the Room of Requirement here.

Inside the wooden house, beside the Vanishing Cabinet, stood a newly built fireplace.

The goblins in the workshop were currently constructing a private Floo route without Ministry authorisation, though it had not yet been fully completed.

Naturally, this was illegal.

However, the route only connected two private exits and was not linked to the Ministry's public Floo Network.

So there was little risk of anyone discovering it.

The reason for building this private Floo route was that the goblin craftsmen planned to study the principles behind both Vanishing Cabinet travel and Floo transportation next.

They intended to first fully understand how Floo Powder travel worked, then temporarily use the fireplace in place of the Vanishing Cabinet while they studied the latter's principles.

Wade could be said to be squeezing every last bit of ability out of these goblin craftsmen.

Using the Vanishing Cabinet, Wade returned to the goblin workshop.

By now, the goblins had already packed the processed bricks into specially designed crates, waiting for Wade to take them back and continue building his castle.

However, the moment Wade arrived at the workshop, he noticed a large group of unfamiliar dark wizards standing nearby with vacant, empty expressions on their faces.

Wade was startled.

For a moment, he nearly thought these people had discovered the workshop and taken it over.

"What's going on with them?"

A goblin walked over and answered, "The former master sent them here. She said it would be a waste to kill them, and that you might have a use for them. She also said they are all thoroughly wicked dark wizards, so you may dispose of them however you wish."

"All right." Wade waved the goblin away.

These idiots had probably been unlucky enough to cross Miravia.

Still, she had not killed them all and had instead enslaved them before sending them here?

Damn...

Had the senior actually become kinder after escaping?

Or was she simply trying to repay the favour she owed him?

What a pity.

A favour owed to Wade was not so easily repaid at all. Kekeke~

...

"What are your plans for the future?" Nagini asked Miravia nervously.

They were now staying in a quiet Muggle hotel.

Nagini had already heard Miravia explain everything that had happened, which was why she was asking what Miravia intended to do next.

In truth, Miravia's life had been remarkably similar to her own.

The only difference was that Miravia had been trapped in one place, unable to move, while Nagini had been trapped inside her snake form, unable to control her own body and forced to watch as the beast's instincts drove it to hunt and feed.

So when Nagini asked about Miravia's future plans, she was also hoping to gain some ideas for herself.

"I've considered several possibilities, but I still haven't decided which one I'll choose..." Miravia sat on the sofa, winding a strand of her long hair around the index finger of her right hand as she considered what to do next.

A few days earlier, she had gone with Ms. Paris to visit the descendants of all her old friends, then visited the graves of those who had passed away.

In a way, she had formally said goodbye to her past and welcomed a new life.

Now Ms. Paris and Slytherin's ghost had already left, while Miravia continued wandering from place to place, thinking about what she wanted to do with the rest of her life.

She had only come here today because she sensed that Nagini was in danger.

Back when she first sent Nagini out to capture dark wizards, she had left a few safeguards on her.

Otherwise, if something happened to Nagini, it would be difficult to explain to Wade.

Besides, Nagini called her Teacher.

How could she possibly leave her student completely unprotected?

"What about you? What do you plan to do in the future?" Miravia asked in return.

"Me? I plan to rest for a while first, then travel around for some time. After that, I'll go back and find Wade..." Nagini answered honestly.

"You're going back to work for Wade?" Miravia asked in surprise.

"Yes..." Nagini nodded.

After regaining her human form, Nagini had originally planned to live a quiet, ordinary life and peacefully grow old.

But...

Wade had called her his comrade!
