Aeri and I walked side by side across the top floor of the big mall. The place was packed with people. Families pushed strollers, young couples held hands, groups of friends laughed and talked loudly, and shoppers carried colorful bags from different stores. Bright lights shone from every shop window, soft music played from the ceiling speakers, and the air was filled with the mixed smell of food, perfume, and new clothes. The whole floor felt lively and full of energy.
"What should we eat? I am hungry." I asked Aeri, turning my face toward her as we walked slowly through the crowd.
"Umm… I don't know yet… I'm still thinking myself," she replied, her lips curving into a soft, thoughtful smile. Her eyes moved from one restaurant to another, looking at the glowing signs and the people sitting inside.
