Chapter 489 - Chapter 493: Tempering the Fury

Chapter 493: Tempering the Fury

By his calculations, the timing should've been just about right.

So once again, the impatient Dark Uchiha Dali launched another attack.

He fired a barrage of energy blasts—so vast in scope it seemed endless.

In an instant, the dense waves engulfed Uchiha Dali completely.

Explosions followed—continuous, relentless, without pause.

No creature could survive such destruction.

Even supreme gods would be obliterated by an assault like this.

Yet after ten straight minutes of bombardment, when Dark Uchiha Dali finally stopped, his expression hardened.

He could clearly sense Uchiha Dali's presence.

Not only still there—but completely unharmed.

Soon, the rolling smoke dispersed—revealing Uchiha Dali standing calmly.

Untouched.

In that moment, Dark Uchiha Dali felt a chill crawl across his scalp.

He glared viciously at him, voice cold:

"Kamui only lasts five minutes. You enhanced it!"

"How long can it last now?"

Uchiha Dali couldn't help laughing at the question.

This guy—ever since becoming the ultimate Evil God—seemed to have lost some intelligence.

Asking something that absurd?

"If you won't tell me, I'll just test it myself!"

"We'll see how long you can maintain it!!"

Dark Uchiha Dali erupted again.

With endless power supporting him, he held absolute confidence.

Even if he kept attacking endlessly at a world-ending level, he could continue forever.

Let's see who broke first.

There was no way Kamui could last indefinitely—he refused to believe it.

Uchiha Dali simply crossed his arms, sat down in the void, and let him attack freely—still without taking damage or striking back.

The two continued their silent contest of endurance.

Time passed, second by second, buried under waves of destruction.

Who knew how long it lasted—until Uchiha Dali, looking bored, let out a lazy yawn.

Dark Uchiha Dali immediately stopped attacking.

"Oh? Out of energy already?"

Uchiha Dali rubbed his eyes and asked in a sleepy tone.

That made Dark Uchiha Dali's face twitch violently, his gaze fierce and venomous.

"Impossible!!"

"How can this be!? Kamui comes from the Mangekyō Sharingan—just a low-level, planetary ability! No—far weaker than the level of a planetary ruler!"

"How can such worthless garbage put me in this position!? Impossible!!"

Dark Uchiha Dali began doubting everything—not just life, but godhood.

He knew Kamui well.

Even God of Destructions didn't bother using such a trivial ability—and they had no need to.

How could something like that last so long?

Watching him frustrated and confused, Uchiha Dali couldn't help laughing softly.

"Confused already?"

"Do you still think you can do anything to me?"

"Reflect properly. If you can think it through, I'll give you one last chance."

"You and I can merge again. Hand over all your power and let me control it. We were one to begin with. You are me, and I am you."

"We could rule this void together. Why fight to the death when we can rise further together?"

He spread his hands casually.

But the offer meant to bring cooperation and mutual ascension—

Was heard as pure mockery.

Without hesitation, Dark Uchiha Dali snapped:

"Dream on!!"

"Only one of us gets to exist—and that one, no—that god, will be me! The Ultimate Evil God!!"

"Yes, yes, you're the ultimate Evil God. You'll be the last one standing."

Uchiha Dali nodded with the gentle patience of someone humoring a child.

But the smile quickly vanished.

A sharp and overwhelming aura surged from him—unlike anything before.

Feeling the shift, Dark Uchiha Dali instantly grew alert.

"So—you finally plan to fight seriously? I've been waiting."

"Go ahead. Show me."

Uchiha Dali lifted a hand—and curled a single finger at him in a taunting gesture.

The contempt almost made Dark Uchiha Dali cough blood.

He had waited so long for even a single opening.

As long as Uchiha Dali manifested physically, he could unleash his exclusive ultimate devouring technique—

Forcing the opponent's power into himself.

No god could resist it.

The five Evil Gods he consumed earlier proved that.

But Uchiha Dali simply refused to become tangible.

Leaving him with strength he couldn't use—like an unsheathed blade with nowhere to strike.

"Uchiha Dali, fight me properly! This is meaningless!"

"If you have any pride left, face me directly! A real battle—fair and absolute!"

Dark Uchiha Dali tried repeatedly to provoke him—

Anything to make Uchiha Dali face him head-on.

Anything was better than fighting a phantom he could never touch.

But Uchiha Dali remained unfazed.

"Why meaningless? I find this very meaningful."

"You—!"

"What about me? Can't you feel it?"

Uchiha Dali spread his hands and looked around.

They were in endless empty void—nothing existed here but the two of them.

"See?"

"In this chaotic space, you and I are the final meaning."

"Everything else has vanished. No time, no existence, no motion."

"So whatever we do—whatever we say—how we act, how we speak—every choice is meaning."

"You bastard—are you preaching to me now!?"

Instead of enlightenment, Dark Uchiha Dali erupted in rage again.

He unleashed another crazed barrage.

But once again—it was nothing more than fury without effect.

Uchiha Dali merely watched him calmly, neither resisting nor responding.

After half an hour of relentless attacks, Dark Uchiha Dali finally exhausted himself and stopped.

"How long are you planning to keep hiding like a coward?"

His voice was no longer just anger—it carried fatigue.

His hostility—the sharpness that defined him—had begun to erode.

Exactly what Uchiha Dali wanted.

He smiled faintly.

"Not enough yet…"
