A sharp, piercing pain shot through Andrew's head, making a low, painful groan escape his mouth as he slowly regained his consciousness. He felt as though his head had cracked open.
His entire body was aching. His senses were distorted, his thoughts scattered. For several seconds, his mind was completely blank, his awareness not fully returned yet. He couldn't recall where he was or what had happened.
But he could feel a lot of hostile and ominous presence around him, and he could feel various movements before his closed eyes. The sound around him blending into an incomprehensible haze.
He tried to move his body and opened his eyes, but his eyes refused to cooperate with him, and his body felt bound by something hard.
And it made Andrew frown in alarm, and his body snapped into alert despite his lingering disorientation at how strange and vicious everything felt. Something wasn't right.
