Dialga's guarantee didn't win the others' trust.
Gardevoir and Zoroark immediately shot it wary looks. This time, even Mew scratched at her head, which still throbbed faintly.
"Dialga, are you sure you can control where we come out?"
Facing Dialga's battered-looking state, Elias forced a stiff smile as he asked.
To be honest, he was worried too.
Not because he feared Dialga would dump him somewhere dangerous.
With Gardevoir and the others around, unless he got teleported straight into a Llamas' nest, there was basically no Pokémon that could threaten his safety.
But…
What he did fear was getting dropped into some weird, highly specific location.
The odds were low—but not zero.
Hearing the doubt, Dialga's eyes flew wide open.
Its face didn't have much range, but Elias could practically feel the indignation radiating off it.
It looked deeply offended by his lack of faith.
After thinking it over, Elias decided to trust Dialga—just once.
Besides, Dialga had already said it itself: it couldn't control the exact landing point.
But with enough experience, it could still manage the general area.
At the very least, it could get him back to the Kalos Region without incident.
"Alright. Let's go."
Elias nodded to Dialga.
"Roooar—!"
With a long howl, a blue-white beam burst from Dialga's mouth, and the time around them began to warp and twist.
...
"Boss, the surrounding area is fully sealed off. The large-scale capture equipment is basically in place."
"Including Malva, multiple admins are already on site."
Xerosic—round build, orange-red sunglasses perched on his face—held a tablet as he reported respectfully.
Lysandre didn't answer. He took the tablet, then handed it to the person beside him.
"Team Flare's deployment is complete."
As he passed it over, he added it like a formality.
Dianna accepted the tablet calmly, her gaze flicking over it at speed.
"The Carbink are also standing by on the outer perimeter."
"We're just waiting for Diancie to get back…"
She spoke as she read.
Seeing everything prepared, Lysandre drew a deep breath, a flash of excitement cutting through his eyes.
After all these years… the results were finally about to be seen.
Not only would the Ultimate Weapon be activated once more—Mr. Elias would be revived because of it.
The thought made Lysandre's blood boil.
When Mr. Elias had his accident years ago, Lysandre had fallen into a long slump himself.
Not only did numerous Team Flare projects stall out—he even lost AZ, the one Mr. Elias had placed such high hopes in.
Lysandre had thought Team Flare would dissolve in his hands.
But…
After he read the letter Diancie sent, he suddenly remembered—the Ultimate Weapon could revive the dead.
From that day on, his goal changed.
Before he created his ideal world, he would revive Elias first.
Thankfully, it wasn't just him.
Diancie had brought the entire Underground Kingdom into an alliance with Team Flare.
"Mr. Elias really had a good Pokémon."
Lysandre couldn't help but sigh.
At least it proved that trading his life to Xerneas had been worth it.
If Diancie had turned out like that Floette in the legends, Lysandre felt he might've fainted from rage on the spot.
"But…"
As if something occurred to him, Lysandre frowned and spoke again.
"Ever since Mr. Elias attacked Yveltal a few years ago, the League's surveillance over the forest has been extremely strict."
"We're making a big move this time. The League will probably send people to interfere."
As he spoke, Lysandre narrowed his eyes, that dangerous edge of a criminal leader finally creeping into his bearing.
But to his surprise—
"The League isn't a concern. Elias's friend will cover for us."
Dianna waved it off, utterly unconcerned.
…Huh?
Seeing how serious Dianna was, Lysandre parted his lips, wanting to speak—and stopped himself.
After years of cooperation, he knew Dianna and the others had someone inside the League helping them.
But…
For something this important, it would normally be escalated straight to the League's upper ranks.
Was Mr. Elias's old friend an Elite Four member?
Lysandre sucked in a cold breath.
An Elite Four seat wasn't cheap—it was only four per region, second only to the Champion.
Even now, with Team Flare fully developed, only Malva had managed to sit in that position.
Unfortunately…
Her jurisdiction wasn't here. She couldn't help much this time.
But from Dianna's tone, that mysterious friend sounded capable of doing exactly that…
As expected of Mr. Elias.
Lysandre's eyes brightened, admiration rising in his chest.
At the same time, the names of the other three Elite Four members flickered through his mind, one by one.
Who could it be…
"Dianna."
A cold voice suddenly cut in.
Lysandre looked over and saw Diancie—just returned.
"Can we move to capture Yveltal now?"
Diancie walked to Dianna's side, asking in a flat tone.
Anyone who didn't know better might've thought she was talking about catching a Dedenne.
But if you looked closely, you could clearly see the excitement in her eyes—completely at odds with her calm exterior.
"Dian—what did she say?"
Dianna paused, then asked in return.
"Shouldn't be a problem. The League's too busy to bother with this right now, but…"
"It seems an organization from another region has come to Kalos. We might need to be careful."
Diancie shook her head, repeating what Diantha had told her earlier.
But in Diancie's eyes—
No matter what organization it was, anyone who dared interfere with her reviving Elias would be mercilessly turned into diamond.
"That's good."
Seeing nothing had gone wrong, Dianna let out a breath.
"Then, since that's the case…"
"Boss, it looks like someone else has slipped into the area."
Just as Dianna was about to give the order, Xerosic's ill-timed voice cut in.
His face was paper-white, and even his report to Lysandre trembled.
He clearly couldn't understand it either—why there was suddenly a stranger in a forest his people had checked again and again.
Staring at the glaring red blip on the tablet, Xerosic felt like crying.
At this rate, he didn't think he'd live much longer.
"The operation to capture Yveltal continues. And send someone to deal with this person."
Before Lysandre could answer, Diancie frowned and spoke first.
