Chapter 440 - Chapter 440: The Executives Coaxing the Girl

Gulp!

It was unclear who swallowed first, but in this slightly quiet atmosphere, the inner flames of the Interastral Peace Corporation "executives" all began to boil over.

"Top-tier. Absolutely top-tier! I've never seen anything like this before—I admit my horizons have been broadened."

"I've lived this long and this is the first time I've seen such a top-tier girl!"

"Should we go chat her up? It looks like the girl's been stood up. If we go over now, maybe we can… hehehe…"

"Let's go, let's go—together!"

Crowding around each other, the group of drunken Interastral Peace Corporation "executives" all headed toward the girl.

Meanwhile, the girl under the streetlamp seemed completely unaware that a threat was approaching her and continued to wallow in her own quiet sadness.

"Hehehe, little sister, are you alone? Uncle sees you look a bit unhappy. Do you have something on your mind? You can tell uncle about it—talking it out will make you feel better."

A black-haired company "executive" approached the girl with feigned elegance. He straightened his somewhat disheveled collar and asked in a deliberately upright tone.

"Hm?"

Hearing this, the girl was slightly stunned. She lifted her head and saw a fairly handsome young man standing before her. The literary girl didn't show much rejection. She gently shook her head.

"Thank you, big brother. Actually, it's nothing much. It's just that the person I was supposed to meet stood me up."

As she spoke, a trace of resentment and disappointment flickered in the girl's eyes. Clearly, she was quite unhappy about being stood up.

"So that's how it is."

The young man nodded. He gently rubbed his chin for a moment before speaking again.

"Maybe your friend got held up by something? After all, you're so cute—how could an ordinary person just casually stand you up?"

The young man gave a gentle smile. His words neither disparaged the friend who had stood her up nor failed to compliment the girl's beauty and cuteness, thereby raising her favorability.

This move earned him thumbs-ups from the group of Interastral Peace Corporation "executives" behind him. Usually, this kid didn't show much, but when it came to picking up girls, he turned out to have real skill.

"Wu… cute or whatever…"

Sure enough, upon hearing the young man's words, a shy blush appeared on the girl's face. She bashfully raised her handbag to cover half of her cheek.

'The plan is proceeding smoothly.'

The young man shot a subtle glance toward the people behind him. The others nodded slightly in acknowledgment and signaled to the nearby security guards to temporarily disperse them.

"So, little sister, what are your plans next?"

After a while, seeing that the girl was no longer quite so shy, the young man seized the opportunity to take the initiative and ask about the literary girl's next steps.

"Mm… I don't know. I guess I'll just head home. I live alone in Belobog, and it's already pretty late. Since that guy didn't show up for our appointment, I need to get back soon."

The girl's words made the eyes of everyone present light up. They hadn't expected this girl to be living alone in Belobog. That made things easy—first try to coax her. If she didn't take the bait, they could have someone tail her and kidnap her under the cover of night.

"Mm, I see… Oh? Little sister, do you like heavy mechs too?"

The young man was about to say something else when his eyes suddenly brightened. He pointed at the golden mecha badge on the girl's chest and asked.

"Huh? Mm, I like heavy mechs because they're really cool!" At this, the girl's eyes lit up, her gaze filled with longing.

"I really love heavy mechs. It's just a shame I can only see them on interstellar TV—I can't see real mechs…"

Hearing the girl's words, the young man suddenly slapped his thigh, inwardly shouting: 'This is heaven-sent help! Truly heaven-sent!'

"Ah! Big brother, what's wrong?"

The young man's sudden action startled the girl. The delicate and frail-looking her fearfully raised her handbag in front of herself, as though it could give her some sense of security.

"Ahem, sorry, sorry. I got a bit too excited, ahem." Realizing his loss of composure, the man awkwardly rubbed the back of his head.

"Since little sister likes heavy mechs, you must know about the Interastral Peace Corporation, right?"

"Mm, I know. Heavy mechs are designed and produced by the Interastral Peace Corporation." After thinking for a moment, the girl nodded slightly.

"Ahem, to be honest with you, I'm actually a high-ranking executive at the Interastral Peace Corporation. My name is Ezekiel, and my rank is P37."

After saying this, the young man named Ezekiel turned around in front of the girl's shocked expression and began introducing the other company "higher-ups" present to her.

"P38-level Merino, P37-level Lichi Xing, P38-level…"

Ezekiel introduced his colleagues one by one to the girl. Without exception, they were all mid-level employees of the Interastral Peace Corporation. Of course, if one insisted on calling them higher-ups, that wasn't entirely inaccurate.

After all, in the entire Interastral Peace Corporation, nearly ninety percent or more of employees fell between P1 and P16. Reaching P37 was already considered extremely rare—even on ordinary planets, such a rank would qualify one to serve as the company's chief representative.

"So—so impressive…!"

The girl's eyes were filled with nothing but admiration and shock, as though she were stunned and incredulous at having encountered so many company higher-ups in a single day.

Taking in the girl's expression fully, the young man named Ezekiel felt the timing was about right. He pulled out his phone and scrolled through the screen, seemingly searching for something.

"Found it!"

Not long after, Ezekiel found what he was looking for and held the phone screen out toward the girl.

Seeing this, the girl was slightly stunned before looking toward the phone screen with some confusion.

"This is… this is a real heavy mech?! And it's right here in Belobog?!"
