Chapter 47 - 47. Self Created Soul Skill

Next Morning

Xie Yue woke up early, washed his body, and decided to meet his Master, Chen Xin.

"Grandpa," Xie Yue greeted his Master, Sword Douluo, upon reaching his residence.

"You came, Ning Yue," Chen Xin responded. They conversed for a while and discussed Xie Yue's cultivation.

After years of being taught by Chen Xin and Bone Douluo, there wasn't much left to teach Xie Yue anymore. He had already learned all the knowledge about Soul Beasts when he was just seven. Chen Xin also taught him whatever he could about cultivation and meditation techniques, but with Xie Yue's talent, he easily understood that knowledge.

The Douluo Dalu cultivation system was simple. There wasn't much to understand or be taught by a master, unlike some martial arts worlds. Theories were few, and after learning them, all one had to do was become familiar with their soul skills and practice fighting. If a person was talented, they could try creating self-created soul skills later. But doing that required immense talent, and not everyone could create soul skills.

"Moon, show me your self-created soul skill," Chen Xin told Xie Yue.

Although there wasn't much a master could teach a student, they could still guide them in practicing soul skills and tricks for actual combat. Chen Xin did exactly that.

With his life experience, Sword Douluo Chen Xin was able to guide Xie Yue better. Chen Xin was also special; unlike others, he had a sword martial soul, and he spent his life learning Sword Intent. Sword and blade martial soul users were different from other martial soul users because they had something extra to practice: their sword or blade intent.

"Yes, Grandpa," Xie Yue replied, summoning his Moon Blades. Crescent-shaped red blades appeared in each of his hands.

He then positioned his moon blades vertically around his body in a circle using his hands. It looked impressive.

He started to channel his soul power into his martial soul and began spinning.

He rotated like a top.

At first, his spinning speed was slow, but in a few seconds, it reached an astonishing level, creating a small red whirlpool. The sound of wind whistling could be heard. The whirlpool contained unimaginable power. But it didn't stop there. Its rotation speed continued to increase, and soon, Xie Yue and his moon blades disappeared, leaving only a red-white disk.

The white disk kept rotating and moved towards Sword Douluo. Within a moment, it traveled more than a hundred meters and reached the front of Sword Douluo. Its speed was incredible. There wasn't even the slightest sound as it moved, as though all the grinding noises and whistling winds were swallowed by the red-white disk.

It was the soul skill Xie Yue had created, called "Full Moon." He had based it on the original Xie Yue's skill. Understanding the principle behind the original Xie Yue's technique, he copied it and learned it in four years.

"EXCELLENT!" Sword Douluo couldn't help but praise his disciple.

Seeing the white disk had already reached him, he formed a defense with his soul power. Although its speed was fast, it was still slow to Chen Xin. After all, with his cultivation level, his eyes could easily track the speed. As one's soul power increased, so did their physical body, senses, and spiritual power. To him, this skill was child's play.

The white disk continued rotating and attacked the seemingly invisible shield Sword Douluo had created. It produced sparks, but that was all. After a while, its rotation speed started to decrease as its power also waned. It soon reverted to its whirlpool form, and Xie Yue could be seen inside it.

Xie Yue recalled his martial soul, sat on the floor carelessly, and panted.

"Grandpa... That's all I can do. My soul power is limited. I can't keep using this skill for much longer, and it didn't even make a crack in your soul power shield," Xie Yue said, assessing himself.

He was only at Level 25, and his soul power was limited. Because of that, the power that "Full Moon" could generate was also limited.

"Brat... Don't think about breaking my soul power shield. Is it easy to break a Super Douluo's defense with your little Soul Grandmaster level?"

"Even without the soul power shield, your soul skill wouldn't even make a scratch on my skin. A Title Douluo's physique is like this. If I didn't mind damaging my robe, I would have let you attack me directly."

"I know, I know..." Xie Yue said with a dejected look. He understood the difference between each level. Even if someone reached the Soul Saint level, they couldn't hope to hurt a Title Douluo. But he still had to act his age, so he wore a sad expression.

"Haha... Don't feel sad just because you weren't able to break my shield. If it were a normal Soul Ancestor, they'd be hurt miserably by your self-created soul skill, unless they were a defense-type Soul Master," Chen Xin said.

"Oh~" Xie Yue still looked down at the floor.

"You're only a Level 25 Soul Grandmaster, but with your two excellent soul skills, you've even defeated a Level 33 Defense Soul Master. Your top speed is already equal to that of a Level 35 excellent agility soul master. What are you sad about?" Sword Douluo continued.

"If you use your 'Full Moon' skill, you could easily defeat everyone under Level 39, whether they're normal martial soul users or top martial soul users."

"In my knowledge, you're the only one who has successfully created a complete soul skill at this age. And it's also an excellent self-created soul skill with no apparent weaknesses," Sword Douluo said, continuing to praise Xie Yue.

He wasn't worried about Xie Yue becoming complacent. He knew his disciple's hardworking nature. There was no need to undermine Xie Yue's excellence or tell him lies.

"Enough, Grandpa... I'm tired of hearing your praise. But it's still the truth that I couldn't break your simple defense. But don't worry, Grandpa, I will defeat you soon," Xie Yue said as he got up from the floor.

With his talent and age, there was no need to work so hard, which made everyone question why he was cultivating so intensely.

Why was Xie Yue working so hard?

This behavior was unusual for his age.

If he didn't become complacent at this age, others would doubt him even more. So Xie Yue used his master as a cover. He told everyone that he was weaker than his master and was cultivating hard to defeat him. Everyone believed his childish goal. Since it was a very childish thought, they accepted his reasoning.

"Hahaha... Yes, yes, you'll defeat me one day," Chen Xin laughed heartily. He didn't feel threatened or anything like that. He also hoped his disciple would become stronger than him. In this world, most Master-Disciple relationships were like this. There was no malicious intent in Chen Xin's heart.
