A fiery house is crumbling and debris from the roof is falling down below to figures hard to make out seem charcoal black and step out of the shadows as they come closer they seem familiar too familiar almost as if he had seen these shadows a thousand times " you save hh" and another word at the end he couldn't hear it sounded muffled but as they came closer it started to become clearer.
"You couldn't save hrrh" the the last word of the sentence was still too unclear and as they got closer he could see the faces the bloody broken disfigured faces and so close he could hear what they were saying to him, "YOU COULDN'T SAVE US!" and Kuroshi takes a step back "I'm sorry i was scared i didn't know what to do.." they come closer as Kuroshi starts to near the window " THAT'S NO EXCUSE YOU COULD OF CALLED FOR HELP CAME BACK TO CHECK ON US"
As Kuroshi's back started to feel the window his parents are so close now you could only fit a penny in between their faces "YOU ARE A HORRIBLE SON!" they screamed as he couldn't find his balance and tripped through the window as he fell into the abyss below he could still see the figure of his parents at the top window staring down at him as he fell deeper and deeper he could hear something a knocking sound getting louder and louder then it turned to banging AGH he said as it kept getting louder his head was aching.
As he got up really quickly on his bed he was sweating hyperventilating he touched his forehead and looked around the room he was still at the Dome and at the door Watt was was banging away "Kuro come on answer the door we ain't got all day" Kuroshi finally starting to calm down from the dream takes a deep breath in and out, and climbs out of bed and opening the door Watt looking a bit pissed at Kuroshi
" Finally sleeping beauty is up!" Kuroshi brushing his eyes "Im sorry i didn't.." Watt interrupts him " Its fine just get ready we need to go to the coronation in like 2 hours" Yawning Kuroshi replies " Alright" and Watt walks away as Watt is heading over to get his towel he thinks to himself "its been 5 days since we arrived here its actually pretty nice I don't do much except protect the princess almost anywhere she goes its simple but its not as high stakes as i thought it would be.. I don't know watching the princess is back while she tends to her little garden doesn't feel too dangerous"
Kuroshi exhales "Maybe its just a slow start" as Kuroshi heads to his bathroom he's wondering if this is truly the job for him he enters the huge bathroom with a big square tub in the middle that's in the ground as if it was an indoor pool. Kuroshi enters it and starts to wash himself and every time he closes his eyes he is reminded by that dream.. that nightmare. At some point he decides his bath time is done and heads back to his bedroom
He enters his room and to his utter shock Peng Yu is sitting on his bed wearing a purple dress it almost glitters, and she looks serious and the princess looks up to him "Ah Kuroshi have a seat" Kuroshi reluctantly has a seat next her wonder if he has done something wrong "So to what do I owe the pleasure Peng" as he feared her next words she starts to speak and Kuroshi's heart starts to pound faster
" I just wanted to thank you" as Kuroshi looks confused "Thank me?" he asks, and she nods her head " For what exactly?" she looks down at the ground "well the last few day haven't exactly been the the most exciting work" Kuroshi looks at her "And I know when you were training you were expecting more threatening work"
Kuroshi looks at her with a slight twinkle in his eyes " Sooo yeah I just wanted to thank you for accompanying me even if it was just to the backyard" and Kuroshi snickers. Peng Yu quickly lifts up her head to look at him as he's trying not to laugh "HAH im sorry im s. sorry haha" Kuroshi pulls himself together "Okay look Princess there is no need to thank me its been no big deal" Peng Yu makes a confused face at Kuroshi "Are you sure?" she asks. "Of course" he answers
Her face lights up, as she quickly gets up and brushes off her dress " Well okay then" she says excitedly as she runs to the door and before closing it she peaks through the sliver of space between the door and the frame " I will see you in 10 minutes" she shuts the door, and Kuroshi thinks to himself "Isn't she precious" And the realisation hits " WAIT 10 MINUTES" he thought his bath did feel a little long as he runs to his wardrobe which looks lacking in the style department he picks a navy suit with silver cufflinks and and a platinum belt
He hurries to put it on and looks himself in the mirror and decides "Yeah this will have to work" he runs to the door closing it behind him while he didn't notice the letter on the desk. He arrives at the front door and there Watt and Peng Yu and her mother waiting for him " Took you long enough" Watt says "Lets go we don't want to be late" Peng Yu's mother says
The red car is driving across the sunbirt bridge as the wind is flowing "beautiful skies today" Peng says with joy looking out the window Kuroshi smiles ay her and looks out of his side of the cars windows beyond the water he saw a ginormous building that stood tall he wondered what this building was for maybe for corporate use or maybe a centre of some sort. He doesn't know but he'll ask later because currently something else is in priority.
They arrive at the destination of the coronation it was castle a big one at that it stretched far and wide across the outskirts of the city with gates that reach high above with a gate black and with a crest with something that looks somewhat like a sword and shield.
Kuroshi wonders if they have a king in Kuragari as he barely listens to the radio or watches television as they approached the gate kuroshi could see two knights in silver armor holding swords on each side of the gate
As soon as they reached the gate one of the guards approached "state your name and business here" Watt steps forward rather confidently "So are you just blind or can you not see this is her highness" the guard looks to the queen and looks back at Watt the other guard steps infront of the first one and bows "I apologize for my juniors behavior he doesn't understand your significance as he is a foreigner" he says still bowed down as he gets to he opens his arm to point to the gate "please go right ahead" they all started to move forward to the gate which slowly opened the closer they got as soon as they were through the gate a man was waiting there holding what seemed like a stopwatch.
He looked up at them and his face lit up.
"Your finally here!" He said excitedly "please step up to the lectern" it was a small wooden build with stairs on the side and on top was a lectern with microphone in the lectern. They stepped up to the small structure Ms watanabe stands up behind the lectern and quickly fixes her hair.
The man steps to the side of the stairs "Alright let's not waste anymore time" he claps twice and a rush of reporters comes through the side gates filling up infront of the small wooden structure. Camera crews are flashing their lights taking photos and videos.
Ms Watanabe taps the mic to make sure it's in working order it makes the taping sound out of the speakers she wants.
"Good morning people of kuragari for generations the title of queen has been passed down for many generations and as we know with that title comes a quest that hasn't been completed in centuries" she pauses and the camera's zoom in on her face as she prepared for her next words
"The quest of becoming Emperor Queen" died silence as soon as those words were spoken and so were sweating some were serious some were confused as it was their first day on the job."Now I didn't complete the mission but I had came close but it is my time to rest my attempt at this mission bestowed upon me" she steps out of the way making space for peng to step foward
"And allow my precious daughter to take on this mission instead" everyone refocused their cameras at peng "please everyone welcome the new queen of kuragari and hopefully emperor queen PENG YU WATANABE" The man said with enthusiasm.
The crowd instantly started cheering and applauding the cheers could be heard as far as beyond the sunbirt.
The crowd dies down a bit and peng yu starts to speak "Hello to you all it is truly an honor to become the queen of kuragari city and I will help make this city a better place" the crowd roars more and more "I will provide resources to this in need and help those who aren't as able as we are" the crowd is going wild " And I will defeat the great destructor" silence hits everyone's on edge not even a peep is heard 'no one had ever made such a goal' they whispered 'it's not possible is it?' They murmured " I know you all are devastated even it's mention but I promise to you that it will be done" some looked at each other waiting for the words it's a joke but none is heard.
*clap* the sound I heard once then twice then thrice then soon the whole crowd seemed to be clapping again"
Peng yu smiled wide a genuine smile.
This was all being live streamed through television. In another area sat a figure on a chair with his chair turned to the TV there is darkness infront of him masking his face. The sounds of the cheer on the TV echo throughout the room like a cave. He lifts a light to his ear in the shape of a flat square it almost glows blue and floats above his fingers but stay attached floating above his hand like he were holding it "Not so wise words" he said confidently smirking. "Get rid of this trash" back at the castle atop a building a small figured lady is crouched on the roof holding a bow and arrow and that same floating blue square is floating beside her ear she answers through the black mask muffled but heard "Understood Sir" she takes an arrow and stands it upright and she quickly draws a green circle with strange symbols and a whole in the middle. As soon as she finishes drawing it it turns as black as ash, and she picks it up as almost as if it were a disk she passes the circle through the arrow carefully and the tip of the arrow also turns black. She puts on gloves and puts the arrow on her bow and she reels it back. Down at the lectern kuroshi is standing behind peng yu and he sniffs and sniffs again. 'What the hell is that smell' he wonders and looks around and he sees it just in time the archer just about to release her arrow. He quickly sprints to Pengs side. the arrow is quickly approaching peng and at this time even reporters noticed and just before she was hit at the last moment Kuroshi catches it the shock hits everyone some start running a lot of people start running In fear.
Watt notices the black tip of the arrow in great worry he shouts " KURO DROP IT". As quick as it was said is as quick as it was done Kuroshi dropped the arrow on the ground but something else was on his mind he turned to Watt "TAKE PENG AND HER MOTHER OUT OF HERE" Watt quickly hurried them away from the scene but Kuroshi met eyes with the archer again he sprints towards the building and leaps hundreds of feet above the ground.
Landing on the roof the archer is already starting to flee while Kuroshi is sprinting close behind her as she jumps of the roof he ju.ps after her as he gets close he sees a circular portal open. She goes through it and it closes and Kuroshi is left confused as well as falling. As the ground approached all kuroshi could do was brace for impact. In a nearby building a loud crash is heard. In a nearby building the Watanabe's and Watt were taking refuge. Footsteps are heard. Coming closer and closer until. *BOOM*
The barn tdoors break open and a dark silhouette is seen. Then it steps closer its seen to be Kuroshi covered in dirt he blows a bit of it off from his mouth "they got away" he says spitting blades of grass out of his mouth. Back at the dome the group is having a meeting in the dining hall. "This wasn't unexpected" Watt says in a calming voice "Yes Yes I know.." Mrs Watanabe says anxiously "I just didn't expect it to be so early" Watt nods in agreement to Mrs Watanabe's statement.
Kuroshi looks over at Peng Yu on the other side of the table she is looking down at her lap she looks a bit defeated but not discouraged. Watt and Mrs watanabe are chatting away about the problem with no regard to the feelings of the person who was actually in danger, instead speaking about the politics of it all and how it looked for the family. Peng yu wasn't holding up well on the verge of tears from the near death experience had it not been for Kuroshi's quick reaction skills she would not be sitting at this table. As she's pondering she hears a quiet knock next to her she looks up at the towering figure. "Yes Kuroshi what did you need?" She asked trying her hardest to sound earnest as possible to her savior. "Come one let's get outta here" he said with a smile on his face. "H. H.. huh?" She stuttered. "I said let's go!" As he grabs her hand lifting her of her seat. They leave the chattering adults in the dining hall to have a room of fresh air. As they cruise through the halls peng yu wonders what could possibly need this urgency. They finally reach their destination its at the back of the dome Kuroshi opens the backdoor. As they go through the moonlight shines bright on Peng Yu and the backyard also lights up. Kuroshi goes into the center of the backyard on flat ground he sits up on the grass. Peng Yu's standing beside confused on what to do. Kuroshi taps the ground "Come have a seat" Peng Yu takes a seat right next to him on the ground. Kuroshi looks up at the sky.
"The stars are shining bright today huh? " She looks up at the night sky and notices the small glimmering lights in the sky
"How beautiful" she says gleefully. Kuroshi falls backward onto the flat plain, and Peng Yu follows after hime she falls beside him. They both look above at the sky as the moonlight shines onto their skin.
Kuroshi notices something. "Wow see that constellation" he says. "Consta.. what?" Kurosh turns his head to her in disbelief and confusion. "You don't know what a constellation is?". She thinks hard "nope".
She says still looking up to the sky. Kuroshi looks back to the sky "well it's basicly stars that are aligned and form a shape like a lion or a hand and such. "Ooh I see"
He points at the constellation he sees "see makes out a sort of sea crab" as his arm is facing outwards toward the stars she notices that one of his veins are pure black "uhm Kuroshi?" "Yeah?" She points her finger at his arm "h.. h.. has your arm always been like that?" She says in a shaky voice
"So now to discuss the assassination method" Watt says as with sort of odd colored gloves on almost pink maybe red and even green. From beneath the table he puts an arrow on top of it the same arrow that nearly impaled Peng yu. "This is pure Shiresk magic" as he runs his gloves down the the arrow
"This is near impossible to get a hold of" he holds the arrow tip facing down looking from a top view "Unless someone has and absurd amount of money".
"How much would they need?" Watt thinks for a moment. "100.. no 500 000 pallets and that would be a starting bid" Mrs watanabe sits back in her seat to think about who could have the money and have such hatred or need for power to want to kill her daughter.
Watt puts a cylinder flask on the table it has a clear liquid inside. He takes the arrow and slowly dips it into the flask. "What is that for" Mrs watanabe questions "Normally if you want to kill someone a single arrow wouldn't finish the job" as it slowly starts to touch the liquid "although a curse attached that would do it"
As soon as the whole tip of the arrow is underneath the liquid it turns a bright red and thr liquid stars to churns as it becomes darker red
Watts eyes widen and he gets up from the table running
"Huh that is odd now that you mention it" Kuroshi says as he looks at the black vein.
The doors swing open as Watt comes running to kuroshi and grabs his arm and lifts him up as he drags him into the dome Peng yu runs after them.
They finally reach a room with a small table and a lot of cabinets and Watt takes a silver pot and puts it on the table. He starts to mix ingredients slowly making a shining blue liquid. Watt grabs Kuroshi's arm and shoves it into the pot.
Feeling nothing but the cold liquid Kuroshi us confused. "And what exactly is this supposed to prov-" kuroshi stops his sentence as he feels a warm sensation that quickly switches to a more burning feeling. "Ah why is it so hot" Watt does not answer as he quietly watches Kuroshi's face rather intently and seriously
"Ah" he grunts as his arm slowly starts to heat up more. "Ahh" his voice wavers as the pain starts to rise as his eyes start to twitch from the heat."AHHH AHH AHH" his screams echo throughout the dome.
He tries to take his hand out of the pot, but Watt keeps it there. Kuroshi continues to scream in agony and finally Watt takes Kuroshi's hand out of the pot. Relieved Kuroshi took a breath but to his shock a look at his arm was supposed to be normal but wasn't so.
His arm wasn't scorched but it was pure black but not as if he was burned as if he were injected with a poisonous needle straight into his arm
"W...W..What is t..this?" His voice quivering. Watt shakes his head
"A curse A high value one" A worried expression
"So what your telling me is that this curse is currently spreading" Mrs Watanabe says in a high voice.
"Yes but that's the peculiar thing"
Mrs Watanabe raises an eyebrow out of curiosity.
"A normal curse would've killed him by now"
She turns her head still confused
"That means that the curse that's running through his veins is a controlled curse"
It finally clicks in her head what happening.
"So the curse would need a controller to be controlled"
"Yes.. it's likely that whoever wanted to curse your daughter likely wanted to hold her life hostage for something like ransom of some kind"
In another room Peng Yu sits on the edge of the bed while Kuroshi lay flat on the same bed the room is dimly lit but you could still see the distress in Kuroshi's eyes. He takes another look at his arm lay still beside him and looks back up at the ceiling.
"This is all my fault I'm so sorry" she says as she stands up and starts to leave but Kuroshi grabs her hand just in time to stop her before she left the room. "No it isn't stop acting like it is" he legs go of her arm and turns her around to face him. And he notices tears staring to form."You couldn't have know they were gonna be there"
She quickly leaves before the tears go down her face. He continues to lay on the bed and looks at his hand again
"How unfortunate"
He sighs and turns to face the wall and he slowly starts to fade into slumber
A young kuroshi stand still in the middle of a pathway a dirt road texture. He sees a small pond nearby he sprints toward it. Looking at it expecting to see his reflection instead a more purple figure is seen the water is moving too much to make out exact details.
He hears a sort of clicking sound and he looks to the sound. A red figure is in the distance he runs to see what it is but no mater how long or fast he runs it seems to be getting further away but then he trips and falls and he bangs his head on the road
And he wakes up.
The birds chirping seems rather insufferable. A knocking is heard near the door. "Come in" he yells. The door opens a silhouette walks through and goes to the drapes and tears them open.
The sun shines through and lights up the entire room. Kuroshi let's out a slight groan and notices the bandages his left arm and sits up
"Did you do this?"
Peng Yu covers the glare of the sun giving rest to Kuroshi's eyes.
"Yes and you'd do well not to ruin it"
"Don't plan on it" She steps away and picks up the tray sitting next to him on the small cabinet and hands it him.
"You made this for me?" She nods with a smile
"Why?" He says still confused.
"To show my gratitude of course"
"I see.."
He picks up the fork and knife react to dig into whatever this could possibly be while Peng sits in a chair beside him. He cuts through the odd looking meat and slowly lifts it to his mouth and bites down.
To his surprise it intact is not that bad at all actually it's very scrumptious.
" Wgow tdis ish amazhing" he says with a mouth full of food.
"Well don't speak with your mother so full its rude!" She says pouting
Kuroshi chuckles and continues to devour the meal. As he does Peng watches him with a wide smile seeming pleased she's enjoying her food.
"AHHH" he let's go of the knife and holds the bandaged arm Peng yu rushes to his side.
"What's wrong do you feel pain?"
He breathes through his teeth as he feels the pain start to fade he opens his eyes and their bloodshot red.
'Ding Dong' the sound of the doorbell rings throughout the dome.
"COMING!" shouts Mrs Watanabe
"Are you okay now?" Peng asks
"I think the pain is gone" Peng Yu gets up.
"Alright then please join us" Peng makes a swift exit out the door. Kuroshi sets aside the tray and climbs out of bed. He chooses the best looking outfit he can find he finds a sort of violet red suit. He puts it on and makes his way to the dining hall and upon entering the hall he sees a man in a yellow suit
'What a peculiar colour' he thinks to himself.
"Aha kuroshi you finally join us" he says as Kuroshi sits down. He studies kuroshi very attently and he notices his eyes and a slight grin appears on his face.
"Long night huh?"
"Yeah" he sighs.
"Moving foward soon we are going to be moving shipments to shiresk"
Mr Watanabe looks shocked
"Shiresk why there?"
"Well they have minerals we are running short of"
Mrs Watanabe leans foward in interest
"Oh really?.. what kinds"
"Oh you know omiri crystals, Norotea, peliasand much more"he answers rather quickly.
Mrs Watanabe sits back
"Alright then proceed" He nods and continues on about exporting their finished good and prices and goes on and on and on.
Kuroshi thinks and feels like his head is getting heavier as he continues to speak
And a foul odor that intensifies and starts to burn his nose it smells familiar too familiar. As he ponder about the smell the man gets up from his seat
"That's all thank you for your time and hospitality" Mrs Watanabe let's out a smile
"We'd have you anytime" He starts to leave and he nearing the door- "AHHHHH"
The pain spreads throughout his arm hurting a lot more than it did back at the bedroom He howls in pain as he falls out of his seat Watt rushes to his side so does the man. Watt doesn't even need to open the bandages to see Kuroshi's arm pulsating
"Shit it's its getting worse DOCTOR!" He yells
"No it will take too much time" He looks around in search of something
"DAMMIT!" He carries his arms
"MRS WATANABE LEAD US TO AN EMPTY ROOM WATT HELP ME CARRY HIM!"
They follow his words and move quickly through the halls and Peng yu follows close behind. They finally reach an empty room with a singular bed. They place him atop the bed. The crowd starts to wave his hand above Kuroshi's face as it started to glow blue
"You know healing magic?" Watt asks
"Class 8 he's in good hands. Watt starts to feel a bit woozy almost light headed
"Augh I feel like I just had the worst hangover" The man stays silent. Watt feels horrible like he could throw up.
He starts to see things hear voices he wipes his eyes but it has no effect but it does worsen. He looks over to his right to see the worried Watanabes he holds his head in his palm.
He hopes whatever this is will pass then a sharp pain is felt in his head right next to where his ear is he feels it and feels a long stick and a liquid pouring out.
Putting his fingers infront of his face he notices the dark red on his fingers and slowly starts to fall to the ground.
Kuroshi starts to wake up and the first thing he sees is the man on a stool sitting right infront of the bed and he can't recall anything before the pain but the memory is slowly coming back
"Am I better?" He asks painfully
"Hopefuly not" the man answers and this answer shakes Kuroshi as maybe he meant unfortunately and slipped over his words or maybe got them confused.
"But that will resolve itself.. how are you feeling champ." Kuroshi blinks twice and answers
"Not the best my head is ringing and the pain in my arm still lingers"
"That is not unexpected it is almost impossible to remove a curse unless you have an incredibly powerful entity do it for you. Kuroshi sighs in frustration. The man starts to stand up.
And through the stool Kuroshi's eyes widen in the sight before his eyes he feels distress sadness anger all hit him at once. Blood on the walls of the room and three corpses lay below.
He averts his eyes for a moment not wanting believe what he sees maybe it's a bad dream a horrible deceiving nightmare. He looks back and he gets up properly from the bed and he sees it.
An arrow on the skull of Watt an arrow sticking out the neck of Peng Yu and Mrs missing her head. Kuroshi doesn't know what to feel but he turns out the man who's back was covered in blood.
Kuroshi has a rageful look I his eye.
"What happend here?" He says in a angry and torn tone.
"There dead"
Kuroshi's eyes start to darken.
"Because.."
"I killed them" Kuroshi quickly lunges at the man but the pain returns and he falls to the ground
He is at eye level with peng yu and sees her lifeless eyes he tries and tries and tries to get up but the pain is too much
The man stands infront of Kuroshi
"You know I have no idea how you saw that arrow" he steps out of the way so kjroshi can the bodies clearly
"You just made my job that much harder"
And as he continues to speak he looks at his arm with the bandages and Peng Yu in the the background. His arm was shaking and the black colour was getting to his fingertips now.
And then his vision starts to blur more and more and then he started to fade and the man was still ranting on he obviously had a huge problem with the Watanabes but he couldn't care to listen as he was distracted about the fact that he failed them all. The darkness creeper into his vision as he fades
"How unfortunate"
