Chapter 453: Xiao Yan Sells Out Yao Chen, Venerable Yao Appears!
When Xiao Yan looked toward him, Venerable Feng was momentarily stunned. He had been curious about the boy, but why was he approaching him right after dealing with a Dou Ancestor level opponent? Wasn't he supposed to fight first and then have Venerable Feng step in to save him for a more dramatic effect?
This kid might be a genius, but his way of thinking… how could he possibly be that person's disciple?
However, since Xiao Yan had turned to him, he couldn't allow the Earth Spirit Gate's sect master to make a move.
"Sect Master Huang!"
His voice was calm, but the underlying force within it was undeniable.
Sect Master Huang, who had just lost his son, immediately halted his attack and looked at Venerable Feng in confusion. Why was he interfering in such a matter?
Venerable Feng turned to Xiao Yan with a faint smile. "Little one, this is a matter between you and Earth Spirit Gate. It doesn't seem to concern me, does it?"
Xiao Yan smiled mysteriously, then removed the ring from his finger and tossed it toward Venerable Feng.
Yao Chen: Damn you, you useless disciple!
Wu Tian, watching from the side, narrowed his eyes slightly before shaking his head. This brat is hopeless. Yao Chen must be furious enough to want to strangle him!
Venerable Feng frowned slightly as he caught the black object flying toward him. Under the gaze of countless onlookers, he slowly opened his palm.
A simple yet familiar black ring lay quietly in his hand.
The moment his eyes fell on the ring, the smile on Venerable Feng's face froze. And at that very moment, the entire space around them seemed to solidify as well.
For an instant, Venerable Feng's entire body turned to stone. His gaze was locked onto that ancient black ring, unmoving.
Above his head, a terrifying storm began to form. The skies darkened, and the wind howled as if the heavens themselves were trembling at his emotions.
A massive vortex appeared in the clouds, as though it could swallow the entire Wind Lightning Pavilion at any moment, dragging everyone into the abyss.
Even though Venerable Feng hadn't spoken a single word, anyone could feel the overwhelming surge of emotions bursting from him.
Under countless astonished gazes, and with the other Venerables watching curiously, Venerable Feng finally stood up from his seat, his hand gripping the ring tightly. His voice was light but carried an undeniable authority.
"No one is to touch this person!"
His aged voice echoed through Thunder Mountain, causing everyone present to pale in shock.
Venerable Feng was protecting Xiao Yan? Just who was this Xiao Yan?
No one knew what had just transpired, but the weight of Venerable Feng's words was unquestionable.
A Dou Venerate's decree was the highest form of authority on Thunder Mountain.
Mu Qingluan, watching from her seat, curiously glanced between her master and the confident Xiao Yan standing below.
She had trained under Venerable Feng for years, yet she had never seen her usually composed teacher show such a decisive expression.
She understood that Venerable Feng's words carried significant consequences this situation, if not handled well, could turn the Three Pavilions into his enemies.
While Falling Star Pavilion did not fear them, a combined assault from all three would not end well. Such a conflict could have terrifying consequences.
Unless… Falling Star Pavilion joined forces with Cai Lin Pavilion… But…
Wait!
Could this have all been planned by Venerable Yan?
Otherwise, why did everything seem so perfectly arranged? If Falling Star Pavilion fell out with the other Pavilions, the only one to benefit would be Cai Lin Pavilion!
But what was so special about the ring Xiao Yan had thrown? What could make her master react so strongly?
Many others had similar thoughts, including the other Pavilion Masters. They were suspicious of Wu Tian, though they were completely clueless about the ring's significance.
A suffocating silence enveloped the mountain. Even the storm that had raged moments ago due to Venerable Feng's emotions gradually calmed.
Venerable Lei, unwilling to make Falling Star Pavilion his enemy, locked his gaze onto Venerable Feng and spoke in a heavy tone.
"Venerable Feng, what is the meaning of this?"
His question carried a trace of anger, probing for answers.
"Heh… Venerable Feng, perhaps you should explain yourself," Venerable Sword chimed in, his expression tense.
Venerable Yellow Spring, on the other hand, merely sneered. He had always been at odds with Venerable Feng, and now that he saw him disregarding the others' authority, he secretly rejoiced. If a three against one battle erupted, it would be his favorite scenario.
Under countless stares, Venerable Feng locked his gaze onto Xiao Yan, his voice slightly hoarse.
"What is your relationship with him?"
After searching for so many years, he had finally found…
His elder brother's trail. This realization filled him with overwhelming emotion, and he didn't bother hiding it.
For a Dou Venerate to show such raw emotion, it was clear that this ring was of immense importance to him.
The other three Venerables and many spectators couldn't help but wonder was this some kind of relic left behind by one of Venerable Feng's past lovers?
Was this… some long lost family reunion?
They were all wrong.
Xiao Yan wasn't here to recognize a father he was here to recognize his master!
As he looked at Venerable Feng's aged yet imposing face, a sense of familiarity and belonging washed over him it was as if he had found a true connection.
With a respectful bow, Xiao Yan clasped his hands together and said confidently,
"Master and disciple!"
Upon hearing this, Venerable Feng nodded. In an instant, he moved in front of Xiao Yan, his gaze now filled with kindness.
"This is the answer I was hoping for… but I still need proof!"
Xiao Yan's face immediately tensed.
"Proof???"
"Venerable Feng, isn't this ring proof enough?" Xiao Yan asked, unwilling to back down.
"A ring can be worn by anyone. I need more proof," Venerable Feng replied, his eyes filled with anticipation.
Xiao Yan's expression darkened for a moment before he pointed at the ring in Venerable Feng's hand.
"My master is inside the ring. You can ask him yourself!"
"What?"
Venerable Feng's eyes widened in shock before a look of joy spread across his face.
"You old fox! Hiding in there all this time! If it weren't for your foolish disciple selling you out, I wouldn't have even noticed the lingering soul within! Get out here, old man!"
His raspy voice turned into a shout filled with joy.
"Heh… Feng Xian, he is not my disciple. He's just a piggy bank!"
A voice dripping with disdain echoed from the ring. Then, a wisp of white smoke emerged, condensing in midair into a cheerful, white bearded old man!
The moment this figure appeared, the three seated Venerables could no longer remain still.
With a loud bang, they slammed their hands on their armrests and stood up in shock.
"The Pavilion Master of Falling Star Pavilion Venerable Yao!!!"
