Chapter 434: The Gullible Ice and Snow Empresses
The Far North, Core Region. This was the coldest place, yet also where the purest energy resided. Because of this, it was home to many powerful soul beasts. A streak of emerald green light shot across the sky!
In no time, the Ice Empress returned to the core region, flying straight to the entrance of a massive cave before transforming into a beam of light and rushing inside.
The cave's interior was vast, resembling a world of ice and snow. Strange trees made entirely of jagged ice grew in abundance. Upon closer inspection, their trunks had intricate rings and crisscrossing vascular structures, while their branches bore delicate, snowflake like leaves of exquisite beauty.
Beneath these trees, special frost moss resembling clusters of crystals blanketed the ground, interspersed with a few patches of pure white spirit grass. Each stalk bore a large flower in its center, forming polygonal shapes with varying numbers of points, ranging from triangles to hexagons.
Even more astonishing, among these peculiar flowers and trees, several ethereal, veil clad maidens with hair as white as snow gracefully drifted through the air. It was evident that they were not human. In such an environment, no human could move with such effortless ease, completely unfazed by the extreme cold.
In addition to these enigmatic figures, intricately carved ice crystal structures dotted the landscape, forming a breathtaking kingdom of ice and snow!
"Ice, you're back."
A cool, melodious voice rang out.
From the depths of the cave, a graceful figure slowly emerged.
She appeared to be a young woman in her early twenties, with an elegant and captivating demeanor. Her slender figure was enchanting, her skin as flawless as ice, pale and delicate. Her long, white hair cascaded like a waterfall, giving her an ethereal, otherworldly beauty. She wore a simple, flowing gauzy dress that billowed despite the still air, exuding a faint, mystical aura.
Beyond her celestial beauty, the overwhelming fluctuations of Ultimate Ice surrounding her, as well as the fact that her delicate feet hovered three inches above the ground, made it clear that she was no ordinary being.
Her snowy white hair reached all the way to her feet, and her icy blue eyes were deep and translucent, as if they could see through everything in the world. Her tall, slender figure was immaculate, and though her pure white gown bore no embellishments, it only served to enhance her noble and peerless presence.
She was the very embodiment of perfection, like a winter plum blooming amidst the frost proud, untouchable, yet breathtakingly beautiful. More strikingly, an unmistakable aura of supremacy surrounded her, commanding instinctive respect and awe.
This woman was none other than one of the Three Heavenly Kings of the Far North the Snow Empress!
Among the soul beast species that ruled over the Far North, none stood above the three great clans: the Snow Maidens, the Ice Jade Scorpions, and the Titan Snow Devils.
As the leader of the Three Heavenly Kings, the Snow Empress belonged to the Snow Maiden race a highly unique species. From appearance alone, they were indistinguishable from human women, except for their frigid, temperature less bodies. One might even wonder, if they were to… ahem… mingle with humans, would there be reproductive barriers?
Despite their human like form, Snow Maidens were indeed soul beasts. Their existence was peculiar, as their very name suggested: "Snow Maiden" implied that the race consisted entirely of females.
Since they had no males, their race did not reproduce in the conventional sense. However, this posed no problem for their survival. The Snow Maiden species did not rely on reproduction to grow in numbers.
Instead, Snow Maidens were born naturally from the extreme cold of the Far North. They were not a product of biological reproduction but rather elemental spirits of ice and snow.
As for why these spirits took human form, the reason was quite simple: humans possessed the highest level of spiritual potential and were the most naturally suited for cultivation. They were even known as the "Innate Dao Bodies." Because of this, it was not surprising that Snow Maidens instinctively assumed human form upon birth.
Periodically, when the ice and snow elements accumulated sufficiently in certain areas of the Far North, a new Snow Maiden would be naturally born.
However, the Snow Empress was different from the rest of her kin. She was a unique existence, born through an extraordinary convergence of heaven and earth's purest ice elements, infused with spiritual energy, and granted true life. She was an Ice and Snow Goddess, an unparalleled sovereign of her kind!
Simply put, the Snow Empress was formed from an exceptionally vast and ancient accumulation of ice and snow energy. The sheer purity and density of these elements granted her immense power and terrifying natural talent from the moment she was born making her the undisputed ruler of the Snow Maiden race.
Her cultivation had surpassed six hundred thousand years, nearing seven hundred thousand years the strongest of the Three Heavenly Kings!
"Snow Empress, we're back."
The Ice Empress responded before transforming into her human form as well.
She had an adorable yet elegant appearance lacking the Snow Empress's haughty grandeur but possessing a cool and striking beauty of her own. Her delicate, pale face bore four emerald green markings on each side, and her long, dark green hair was naturally styled into twin ponytails. Paired with her emerald green dress, she exuded an air of youthful charm.
Standing beside the Snow Empress, the two women looked like sisters.
A flash of light emerged from the Ice Empress's body and landed nearby, taking the form of a young man.
Dressed in white with long black hair, he was strikingly handsome and possessed an air of extraordinary refinement. He was Ye Cheng.
The trio a man and two women formed a harmonious picture, their close bond evident.
"How did it go? Did you obtain what you needed?" The usually indifferent Snow Empress spoke with an uncharacteristic softness when addressing Ye Cheng. Clearly, this man held a special place in her heart.
"Yes, this fragment's memories perfectly complement my own. The Demon Cultivation Method is beginning to take shape," Ye Cheng said with a smile.
"Then we'll soon be free from these cursed tribulations and live without restraints?" The Ice Empress' eyes sparkled with excitement. She leaned in closer, her small frame brimming with anticipation.
For hundred thousand year soul beasts, there was nothing more loathsome than heaven's tribulations.
These calamities were utterly unreasonable. They could be living peacefully in their territories, harming no one, only to be suddenly struck by lightning when their cultivation reached a certain level. Each time, they were battered half to death and had to spend an agonizingly long time recovering.
And just as they had barely finished healing, the next tribulation would arrive.
Their hatred for these tribulations was boundless. Even more so, they loathed the gods of the Divine Realm who had imposed such suffering upon them. If given the chance, they would tear them apart limb by limb!
Thus, in the eyes of the Ice Empress and Snow Empress, Ye Cheng was nothing short of a savior for bringing them a way to break free!
After spending time with him, the two inexperienced empresses had developed a deep reliance on him, placing their absolute trust in his words.
They were convinced that only he could secure a true future for soul beasts.
One had to admit, despite their intelligence being on par or even superior to humans, these two had zero experience dealing with human deception. They were incredibly easy to fool.
If someone were to sell them off, they'd probably even help count the money.
