Chapter 438: The Divine Enlightenment Technique!

"Snow Empress, how do you feel?"

Seeing the Snow Empress open her eyes, the Ice Empress couldn't wait to ask. She wanted to know if transforming from a soul beast into a demon beast was really as incredible as Ye Cheng had claimed.

"I have never felt this good before."

Upon hearing this, a gentle smile appeared on the Snow Empress's flawless face, radiating warmth like a spring breeze completely devoid of her former icy sharpness.

"You… you've changed so much."

Looking at the Snow Empress, whose demeanor was now almost unrecognizable, the Ice Empress could hardly believe this was the same woman she had been sisters with for tens of thousands of years. Could it be that transforming from a soul beast into a demon beast also twisted one's mind?

Seeing the Snow Empress become so gentle sent shivers down her spine. It was unsettling. But she had already come this far there was no turning back now.

Even if she wanted to, the heavenly tribulations would never allow it.

Now that the Snow Empress had become the first demon in the world, the Ice Empress refused to fall behind. She immediately reverted to her Ice Jade Scorpion form, lying atop the icy platform to begin her own transformation.

Why not stay in human form like the Snow Empress?

The process of transformation had to be done in one's true form. The Snow Empress had remained in her human shape because her race was naturally humanoid. But for the Ice Empress, staying in her true beast form was the best choice. Maintaining a human form while undergoing transformation would have been a waste of energy, making the process even harder.

The Ice Empress's transformation was far simpler than the Snow Empress's. Her cultivation was much lower, and she had witnessed the Snow Empress's transformation firsthand, allowing her to understand the process better.

For these reasons, she only needed half the time it had taken the Snow Empress to complete her metamorphosis. Of course, Ye Cheng's help was crucial to her success.

After all, forcing a rapid racial transformation in such a short period came with great risks and costs. Normally, it would take thousands, if not tens of thousands, of years. Skipping this process demanded a price but it also saved an unimaginable amount of time.

And with great risk… came great rewards.

By taking this shortcut, she bypassed thousands of years of struggle and instantly completed what should have taken ages.

At that moment, the second demon was born.

Just like the Snow Empress, the instant the Ice Empress's race transformed, she felt the world's favor.

An unprecedented warmth and kindness surrounded her like she was wrapped in a mother's loving embrace. The security and peace she felt in this moment were things she had never experienced before.

The entire world was showering her with benevolence.

This newfound acceptance dissolved the resentment that had long festered in the hearts of the Snow Empress and Ice Empress. Their violent nature softened, returning them to their purest, most innocent selves.

Becoming demons had changed more than just their minds it had also completely altered their bodies.

Previously, their soul power was elementally restricted a result of their bloodline. As beings of ice, every ability they developed revolved around frost and snow, leaving them with no other options.

But now, their bloodline had been rewritten, and their soul power had transformed into demon energy.

Their innate ice abilities remained, but their new demon energy was attribute less, or rather, universally adaptable. They could freely switch attributes at will.

They had gone from single element warriors to all element sorcerers.

This was the fundamental difference between demon beasts and soul beasts.

Demon beasts were versatile, adaptable, and limitless. They weren't confined to a single element, and with the right talent, they could even create their own demonic techniques or learn techniques from other demons.

Soul beasts, on the other hand, were restricted by their bloodline attributes. Their abilities were locked to whatever element they were born with. While some soul beasts could push their elemental abilities to the extreme, not all had the talent to do so.

For the vast majority, a single attribute was a limitation a shackle on their growth.

With both Ice and Snow Empresses now fully transformed, they took some time to adjust to their new forms, testing their powers and comparing the differences between soul beasts and demon beasts.

Once they confirmed that everything was even better than expected, they decided to begin spreading Demonic Cultivation.

The first to benefit, naturally, would be the Snow Maiden and Ice Jade Scorpion clans.

As the rulers of their respective races, they would share this power with their own first. It was safer to start with their most trusted kin before expanding outward.

First, they would build their strength from within.

Once they were ready, they would summon other promising soul beast clans of the Far North and share Demonic Cultivation, ushering in a new era for the demon race!

This was the grand plan that Ye Cheng had laid out for them.

But in order to grow their numbers, one thing was absolutely essential

The Divine Enlightenment Technique.

Without this critical spell, the demon race could never truly expand.

Thus, Ye Cheng passed down the Divine Enlightenment Technique to both the Snow Empress and Ice Empress, instructing them to use it to awaken the intelligence of soul beasts and unite them under the demon banner.

Of course, the Snow Maiden clan didn't need this technique. Since they were humanoid by nature, even a ten year old Snow Maiden had intelligence on par with a human. Their minds were already fully developed, so Divine Enlightenment was unnecessary.

However, the Snow Maidens had an incredibly low population. Even with the Snow Empress included, there were only thirty six of them in total a pitifully small number for an entire race.

Still, as beings born directly from the elements of the Far North, this low population was understandable.

Compared to them, the Ice Jade Scorpions were in a better position. There were about six to seven hundred of them in total.

But numbers came at a cost.

While the Ice Jade Scorpions had an exceptional bloodline, their intelligence was still limited only slightly better than normal soul beasts.

This was why they needed the Divine Enlightenment Technique to unlock their true potential.

In truth, there was a universal rule in nature

The stronger and more perfect a bloodline, the harder it was for the species to reproduce.

Without the Divine Enlightenment Technique, even if the Snow Maidens and Ice Jade Scorpions reproduced endlessly, their numbers would never be enough to build a dominant demon race.

Especially since Snow Maidens were all female there were no "Snow Men".

They couldn't reproduce in the traditional sense. New Snow Maidens could only be born naturally through the elements, not through biological reproduction.

And as for the Titan Snow Demons, the third great race of the Far North?

Their population was small as well only about three hundred in total.

More than the Snow Maidens, but still far from enough.

Perhaps this was just the way of the world a law of nature, an undeniable truth.

Or maybe… it was the will of the heavens themselves.

Who truly knew?
