Chapter 483 - Chapter 483: Oscar’s Perspective

Chapter 483: Oscar's Perspective

Inside the office, the peach eyed young man observed Mu En, who stood stiffly in place, too nervous to move. After a moment of scrutiny, he finally spoke. "My name is Oscar. I am the supervisor of White Cloud City responsible for handling cases like yours foreigners seeking to study here."

"Oscar?!" Mu En exclaimed in disbelief.

He finally understood why this man looked so familiar. There was no doubt this was none other than Oscar, one of the original Seven Monsters of Shrek, the God of Food himself!

The seven statues of the first generation Shrek Seven Devils still stood in Shrek Academy. Mu En saw them almost every day. How could he not recognize this face? It was just that he hadn't immediately connected the dots who would have thought of such a thing?

Now, hearing Oscar introduce himself and considering that this world corresponded to the era of ten thousand years ago, Mu En suddenly realized the truth. The Oscar standing before him was the God of Food from an alternate world!

"What's wrong with my name?" Oscar raised an eyebrow at Mu En's reaction. He seemed puzzled. "You look like you know me… but I don't remember you at all. Could it be that there is also an 'Oscar' in your world?" His curiosity piqued, he leaned forward and asked with interest, "Tell me, what kind of person is Oscar in your world?"

After graduating from White Cloud Academy, Oscar had excelled in his studies. Having been thoroughly indoctrinated by the academy's teachings, and with no strong personal ties or influential background, he was seen as a promising, clean candidate. White Cloud City recognized his talent and recruited him into its ranks, providing him with continued education and resources.

Years of cultivation, combined with White Cloud City's meticulous training, allowed Oscar to reach godhood not as a God of Food reliant on inheritance, but through his own effort. Incidentally, Shrek's Flender and the others now relied on him for financial support.

The world had changed drastically over the years.

Many academies had collapsed, and Shrek Academy, being a so called "wild" institution, had shut down long ago. It had been hemorrhaging money for years without bringing in much in return, unable to attract enough students.

For this reason, when Oscar learned that in another world, Shrek Academy had become the world's top school and had thrived for ten thousand years, he grew curious. That was why he personally took charge of handling these visitors. Otherwise, Mu En wouldn't have met him today he would have been received by a low ranking official instead.

A group of non divine level visitors had no qualifications to negotiate a partnership. All they could do was beg offer something in exchange for White Cloud City's favor and mercy.

Originally, Oscar assumed that in the other world, Shrek Academy would have no connection to him. After all, what could a mere food type soul master accomplish? No matter how strong he was, without reaching godhood, his name would likely be forgotten by history.

But seeing Mu En's excitement, it was clear that was not the case.

Could it be that his alternate self had become someone significant?

Hearing the inquiry from this alternate world Oscar, Mu En finally calmed his excitement and began eagerly recounting the glorious history of Shrek Academy. He hoped to establish a connection, to build rapport.

He spoke of how the first generation Shrek Seven Monsters all became gods, how Shrek Academy had flourished for ten thousand years as the world's greatest school, and how its students took pride in being part of its legacy.

"I didn't expect your world to develop in such a way…" After listening to Mu En's summary, Oscar couldn't help but sigh. "But thinking about it, it makes sense. If a school produces successful students, those individuals become living examples that boost its reputation. And having seven gods at once… well, that's certainly interesting. Even creating some kind of 'Shrek Seven Monsters tradition'…"

Even with his usual demeanor, Oscar couldn't help but marvel at his alternate self's good fortune. That Oscar had followed Tang San and somehow lucked into a divine position. And somehow… he had even married Ning Rongrong?

That little devil…

Oscar shuddered at the thought. He had been tormented by her enough in the past. In his younger years, he had been captivated by her beauty and had felt a bit of affection for her.

But now, with age and experience, his worldview had expanded far beyond the narrow horizons of his youth.

He was no longer that poor, love struck fool with no prospects. Now, he had multiple wives and several children. Ning Rongrong no longer held any special place in his heart if anything, he was relieved he hadn't ended up with her. That girl had been a little tyrant, causing trouble left and right under the protection of her powerful brother, the lord of White Cloud City.

Oscar had no love for girls with such a personality.

Now, hearing that his alternate self had ended up with Ning Rongrong, he felt nothing at all no jealousy, no longing. They were two different people, from two different worlds, with entirely different experiences. Would you assume that because your twin brother married a rich heiress, you were also her husband?

Oscar had completely separated himself from his alternate self's fate. He felt no connection to that other life, only acknowledging that the other Oscar had been incredibly lucky.

After listening to Mu En's passionate speech about Shrek Academy's achievements, Oscar reflected on it for a moment. Then, his expression turned serious. It was time to get to business.

"Alright, enough small talk."

Oscar's face hardened into a professional demeanor. "State the purpose of your visit to White Cloud City."

"Uh…"

Mu En was caught off guard by the sudden shift but quickly recovered. He began explaining their purpose: they hoped to establish a partnership with White Cloud City to gain access to the God Ring Master cultivation system, the secrets of godhood, and advanced soul tool research.

Oscar listened without any change in expression. When Mu En finished, he simply said, "If you want these things, that's fine. But what do you have to offer? And as for a partnership… are you sure you understand your position here?"

With what little they had to offer from their backwater world, without a single divine tier powerhouse among them, they actually thought they were in a position to negotiate with White Cloud City?

"For ten thousand years, Shrek Academy has accumulated extensive cultivation records, as well as insights from powerful experts. Additionally, our world possesses rich mineral resources, rare spiritual herbs, and soul bones…"

The more Mu En spoke, the weaker his voice became, until he finally fell silent.

What kind of garbage was this?

Cultivation records? Soul master insights?

Did White Cloud City, a place brimming with gods, really need the notes of soul masters who had never even broken past their limits?

Mineral resources? Spiritual herbs?

As if White Cloud City lacked those things? Had he not seen the immortal herbs casually planted in office pots like ordinary houseplants? Would anyone here even care about their so called "precious" herbs?

And soul bones…?

Had he ever heard of Contract Soul Masters?
