Xiaonuan pulled a nearby blanket over her body.
She curled up entirely within the soft Italian merino wool blanket, huddling like a vulnerable child.
The soft, plush texture wrapped around her naked body brought warmth and comfort, yet she still felt a lack of security.
After a while, she looked around and unexpectedly discovered a narrow and tall wardrobe. Wrapping the blanket around herself, she got out of bed and, barefoot, walked to the wardrobe. Opening its door, she found it stuffed with her clothes, coats, T-shirts, an international limited edition loungewear set, and even underwear.
She returned to the bedside to put on clothes, noticing there were no socks, so she had to get back on the bed barefoot, pull the blanket over herself, and huddle again.
It seemed only like this could she feel somewhat grounded.
Nangong Yaoling's words echoed once more in her mind.
He asked her, what exactly he had done wrong?
