"Brother Fang Yuan," Lu Wei Yin said, "although I will not withhold these funds from you as they are rightfully yours, I will advise you that it is not in your best interest to take them all at once. If you intend to leave this Mushroomman Paradise, as I believe you wish to, those funds might make you a target. It might be safer to keep some of them here within this Paradise where they will be safe."
Several of the members of the council looked at Fang Yuan enviously.
So what if this was a Paradise? Limitations on resources always existed. So long as Paradise Earth was not here himself, how could he contain the greed of others?
The Legends of Ren Zu, Chapter Six, Section Five, stated:
After Ren Zu, Carefree Wisdom Heart, and Great Strength True Martial had visited the Mushroomman Mycelium in order to heal themselves, Ren Zu had overdosed and inadvertently created Profound Earth Origin.
Profound Earth Origin gazed at his father and siblings with respect. "Father - how are you doing?"
"I ah, feel overwhelmed," Ren Zu said. He had been working nonstop causing his liver to be damaged, in addition to the excess Human Qi he had taken in.
"Rest father, only time can heal the ravages of fatigue," Profound Earth Origin said. Profound Earth Origin was both wise and adept at healing - caring for his father.
"In the meanwhile, we should try and reach our other brothers and sisters," Carefree Wisdom Heart said.
"I know!" Profound Earth Origin said. "First, let's go and find Beauty Gu. Beauty Gu is said to be wondrous, none can resist it. With it, we can convince others to help us find our siblings."
"That's right! Let's go seek out Beauty Gu!" Great Strength True Martial said, Ambition Gu within him flaring in agreement. Obtaining beauty was a main focus of the ambitious!
The three children let Ren Zu sleep.
Sooner or later, children must leave the nest and their parents behind to seek their own destinies.
As they wandered along the Mushroomman Mycelium, seeing more and more groups of Mushroommen fighting amongst themselves.
"Oh, Mushroommen, why do you continue to fight amongst yourselves?" Profound Earth Origin inquired.
Many of the Mushroommen gave no answers, or began attacking them instead. There were very few who were receptive to listening to them.
The Mushroommen Mycelium spoke to them, "Oh humans, do not put your noses in the fights of others. You will only end up with footprints upon your face."
"Mushroommen Mycelium, you said that Beauty Gu landed somewhere here," Profound Earth Origin said. "And that is what is causing all of these Mushroommen to be affected by envy? If we were to retrieve it, it would stop the fighting, wouldn't it? Where can we find Beauty Gu."
"Oh humans," the Mushroommen Mycelium answered. "Beauty Gu is everywhere and can be found wherever the beholder wishes to see."
"I understand," Carefree Wisdom Heart said. "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder!"
"The eyes of the beholder..." Profound Earth Origin said. "Our Father, Ren Zu, gave up his eyes to create Verdant Sun and Desolate Ancient Moon."
"Indeed," the Mushroommen Mycelium answered. "Parents can always find beauty in the forms of their children."
Great Strength True Martial frowned. "In that case, is Beauty Gu within us? I cannot see it."
"Oh humans," the Mushroommen Mycelium answered. "Without the aide of Self Gu, you cannot see your inner beauty."
"But father has Self Gu..." Carefree Wisdom Heart noted.
"But allow me to help you," the Mushroommen Mycelium said. "It is said that Beauty Gu landed over there. I do not know what happened to it or where it went, but you can continue your search from there."
The trio moved to the location mentioned by the Mushroommen Mycelium, avoiding hordes of fighting Mushroommen.
Finally, they happened upon a gu worm.
"Is that Beauty Gu?" Profound Earth Origin asked.
"Impossible," Great Strength True Martial answered. "That thing looks hideous. How could it be Beauty Gu?"
As they came closer, they noted this gu worm's grotesque appearance. It had bulging eyes, putrid skin, and gave off a noxious smell.
All of them were almost instinctively repelled by its mere presence.
The Mushroommen, likewise, had avoided this area completely.
This gu worm said, "Oh humans, my name is Beauty Gu."
"You are Beauty Gu? Impossible, you're lying!" Carefree Wisdom Heart answered.
"Ehehe... were you too look at me with kind eyes, I too could become Beauty Gu," the gu worm in question answered. "Yes, what I told you was not a lie. At one time, I was Beauty Gu, and at one point, I did land here. The Mushroommen, who ordinarily got along peacefully, wanted me and began fighting over me. They wanted to possess me for themselves. And in doing so, they transformed me."
"I don't understand," Profound Earth Origin said.
"Oh humans, I used to be Beauty Gu," the gu worm in question answered. "However, because of the Mushroommen, who refined Envy Gu, I became Ugly Gu instead. Envy is an ugly emotion and brings out the ugliness even in beautiful people - and because of that, I lost my beauty and became Ugly Gu. Do you see that now?"
"Hmm..." Carefree Wisdom Heart said. "In that case, where can we find Envy Gu? If we can get rid of it, then you can become Beautry Gu once more."
"Humans, if you keep wandering along the Mushroommen Mycelium, to where the fighting is the hardest, you will eventually find Envy Gu. It is where it has seated itself that the fighting is most intense," Ugly Gu said. "But please humans, take me with you. I do not want to be left here."
Neither Carefree Wisdom Heart nor Great Strength True Martial wished to be associated with Ugly Gu. In this world, all beings sought beauty, who would take Ugly Gu with them? Because of this, Ugly Gu was left here in Green Heaven, all alone. However, Profound Earth Origin felt sorry for Ugly Gu. "Ugly Gu, I was born from Ren Zu's liver. The liver works to detoxify poisons and other ugliness within the body, and the earth absorbs the toxins of the world upon itself. I will take you with me."
As Profound Earth Origin picked up Ugly Gu, he became ugly himself. Pustules began erupting all over his body. He began emanating a nasty odor, his skin became sickly, he gained a pot belly, his teeth became yellow and crooked, and he became wrinkly all over. "Ah, Brother, Sister, apologies for my appearance."
"No need to apologize, Brother," Carefree Wisdom Heart said. "True ugliness lies in not the ugliness of the face, but the ugliness of the mind and heart. And both your mind and heart continue to be the same as before."
"And I do not care regardless," Great Strength True Martial said. To the strong and ambitious, what was embracing ugliness? It was meaningless to them!
