Everything happened in an instant. Neither the monk nor the elven prince could even mount a defense before the poison assaulted them. Myriad silver runes started appearing on their bodies one after the other.
These were not normal runes. Each one was powerful and mysterious. The elven prince was the first to fall. His aura diminished in an instant and his orbs started looking pale and listless.
The monk managed to put a few seconds of fight. It seemed as if he was well versed with runes and was frantically trying to inscribe something on himself with golden wisps of energy. When that failed he started taking out one treasure after another.
There was a rustic looking bell. Then came a simple and plain stick. Then there was some sort of water which was similar to holy water but it wasn't exactly that.
The elven prince as well refused to simply accept things. His sword aura blasted outward and he shone like a star who was about to explode.
