"I am just curious what they are thinking as they do this," she couldn't help but wonder out loud, and Xander held her hand soothingly as he responded.
"It doesn't matter what they think. Let them think and believe that they have won now. When tomorrow comes, they will be caught by surprise and have no place to run to."
