The sun dipped below the horizon, and the evening air of Liyue Harbor cooled. At exactly nine o'clock, Li Mo stood up and announced the closing of the internet cafe.
"Hey, it's only nine? Just let me stay a little longer!"
"I'm coming back tomorrow to fight that mountain again. I don't believe I can't pass that level!"
"Oh no, it's dark already? My wife is going to kill me for being out this late!"
"Tell me about it. I've been here all day. I'm definitely getting a lecture when I get home."
The guests filed out one by one, their faces a mix of lingering excitement and reluctant withdrawal. Even though the shop only offered two games, the sheer novelty was enough to keep them hooked. Li Mo didn't have any plans to offer overnight service just yet, so he locked the front door behind the last customer.
With the shop quiet, he began to count the day's earnings. Between the hourly fees and the sales of snacks and drinks, the total turnover was nearly 20,000 Mora. Back in his world, even the large internet cafes he owned didn't see this kind of profit in a single day, especially since home computers had made the business decline. With 20,000 Mora a day, he certainly wouldn't have to worry about his living expenses in Liyue.
However, Mora was the smaller prize. The real treasure was the emotional value points. While the common citizens provided a steady stream of points through their excitement and frustration, the biggest contributors today were undoubtedly Director Hu Tao and the industrious Keqing.
It was a bit of a shame that Mr. Zhongli hadn't played. If a being of his stature were to lose his composure—to truly break his defense—the emotional points from a god-level entity would likely be astronomical. But breaking the composure of the God of Contracts was a monumental task. Li Mo figured it might be easier to get an emotional reaction out of Venti in Mondstadt or the Traveler, but branches in those regions were a goal for the future.
For now, Li Mo's priority was increasing his own strength. He had accumulated a total of 3,300 emotional points. The system offered a newcomer benefit: a 30% discount on the first ten-draw, meaning he could get ten items for exactly 3,000 points.
The system's lottery tiers were clearly defined:
White (1-Star): Common items and ordinary people.
Green (2-Star): Powerful items and standard Vision holders.
Blue (3-Star): Elite items and powerful Vision holders.
Purple (4-Star): Items and powers on the level of a demon god's眷属 (subordinate).
Gold (5-Star): Divine-grade items and the power of the gods.
"Alright, let's do this. Ten-draw, here we go! Since I'm a time-traveler, I must have some protagonist luck on my side."
Li Mo initiated the draw with high hopes. In his mind, he was practically guaranteed to see gold—maybe even a double or triple pull. The lottery machine in his sea of consciousness whirred and spat out ten glowing spheres of light.
Congratulations! You obtained a pack of Dandelion Seeds.
Congratulations! You obtained a Slime keychain.
Congratulations! You obtained a Dull Blade.
Congratulations! You obtained a Hunter's Bow.
...
Congratulations! You obtained the Dante Sparda Primary Template (Purple 4-Star).
There was no legendary gold, and certainly no double-yolk pulls. Out of the ten items, nine were common white-tier rewards. Fortunately, the final pull saved the day.
"The Dante template? Now that's what I'm talking about."
Li Mo nodded in satisfaction. No man could turn down the chance to be as stylish as the legendary demon hunter from Devil May Cry. While this was only the primary Purple 4-Star template—reflecting Dante's strength from the third game—it was still incredibly formidable. In the context of Teyvat, this put him on the level of the most powerful subordinates of the Archons. He knew that if he could eventually upgrade to the fourth or fifth generation templates, he would be reaching the level of the Heavenly Principles themselves.
Li Mo immediately activated the template card. His body underwent a violent transformation as a massive surge of demonic power coursed through his veins. His blood felt like it was boiling, and steam began to rise from his skin as his physical attributes were rewritten.
Half an hour later, the fusion was complete. Li Mo let out a long, shaky breath. "That... feels incredible."
Going from an ordinary human to a half-demon was a sensation that words couldn't quite capture. Beyond the raw strength, he now possessed an almost immortal self-healing ability. As long as he wasn't decapitated, he could recover from almost any injury.
The primary template came with the essentials: the Rebellion sword and the iconic dual pistols, Ebony and Ivory. It seemed that if he wanted the more exotic weapons from the series, he would have to keep spinning the wheel.
Regardless, Li Mo finally felt a sense of security. He no longer had to fear stepping outside the gates of Liyue Harbor. After a quick shower to wash away the sweat from the transformation, he decided to head out for a late-night snack and enjoy the sights of the Liyue night market with his newfound confidence.
