"Here," Corvin said, spreading the marked chart across a folding table at the staging area, weighted down at the corners against the evening breeze. Patches of red ink spread across a rough sketch of the forest, radiating outward from the sealed passage in an uneven, sprawling pattern. "This represents confirmed corrupted growth. We've documented instances as far as two kilometers from the chamber entrance."
"Two kilometers," Samuel repeated, voice tight.
"In every surveyed direction. We didn't have time to check the full perimeter, but based on the pattern so far, I'd estimate the actual spread is considerably larger than what we've confirmed."
