Chapter 29 - Wan Mo 2-0 Anderson family

Wan Mo wasn't at ease, he felt like he had been too relaxed around Han Jiuran; there's a possibility Jiuran knows everything and wants to hear from the horse's mouth, maybe he should leave now.

Wan Mo stood under the shower for long, contemplating, a scowl rested on his face.

His eyes were dark and tired.

He turned off the shower, a towel rested on his head and he entered his private room, the one hidden in the bathroom.

He shouldn't be the only one going through a lot.

He opened his laptop and scrolled through the document he was about to release anonymously, and he knew he didn't need to push anything, his former family had competitors, very aggressive competitors, people who were ready to drag the Anderson's down.

With the embezzled pension funds, the family had their eyes on a vibrant, middle-class neighborhood. Using a shell company, they lobbied the city council to declare the area economically stagnant.

Overnight, the residents received eviction notices. No negotiations, no fair market value offers, everyone in the neighborhood woke up to the sounds of bulldozers.

The Anderson family claimed they were building a Sustainable Tech Hub, but as soon as the last family home was leveled, the blueprints changed to a high-priced luxury plaza. The original homeowners were left with nothing but a relocation stipend that couldn't even cover a month's rent in the city.

When the people tried to speak, the Anderson family attacked them.

Protesters were served with multi-million dollar defamation lawsuits.

The family's lawyers filed motion after motion, intentionally dragging out the process to bankrupt the families who dared to speak up.

Local business owners who supported the people had to back down because their bank loans were always getting rejected and their suppliers were cutting ties with them, no one had to tell them, they knew who was behind all of it.

Wan Mo had the original, unedited records.

A record that showed the side-by-side comparison of the public pension reports versus the actual diversions.

The document contained Emails and signed memos between the Anderson patriarch and corrupt city officials.

These documents discussed the forced rezoning and included directives on which judges to incentivize to ignore the lack of compensation for the residents.

It also had a detailed breakdown of how the family used the stolen pension money to buy the very equipment used to demolish the homes.

Wan Mo's brows were raised, his family were this evil, wow.

He knew his father was strict and all about business, his mother always threatened everyone with a lawsuit; Wan Mo believed if everyone in his family acted so high and mighty, at least their hands shouldn't be this dirty. But no, they were the epitome of evil, while taking a look at him, Felix Anderson, doing everything for this same people's validation, even kept quiet about his constant abuse just so they wouldn't lock him up again.

Gathering these evidence was no easy feat, that one friend that helped and trusted him without questioning anything, Wan Mo pushed down heavy feelings threatening to overwhelm him.

He pressed send, and leaned back on his chair, San Yi Han must be busier after this.

Wan Mo entered his room, wore his clothes and went to kitchen to drink tea, to at least free his head.

In both lives he kept on dissatisfying the people he called his friends, he keeps on doing things that earned him words like "I'll never forgive you, liar!".

Wan Mo rolled his eyes and gulped his tea, what was he getting emotional about??! Better gulp it down with this tea.

Wan Mo felt hands wrapped around him from the back, he eyes widened a fraction because he wasn't wearing a breast plate, and then narrowed into slits, was he too preoccupied that he didn't hear the sounds of footsteps.

Wan Mo turned around, arching a brow at the maid who was bold enough to touch him.

He removed her hands, her skin was warm.

"Do you have a fever?" He asked.

The maid shook her head "No".

"Then you touched me out of freewill?" He asked, she nodded with a blush and a smile.

He was going to understand if she had a fever messing with her head but she was perfectly fine.

"Brother Mo you're so handsome I couldn't take it" the maid answered with a serious look in her eyes.

Wan Mo's eyes twitched "Then you called upon death by yourself? Are you new?".

She nodded. "I came here three months ago, they said, no one is allowed to talk to the young lady of the house unless needed, but one day, I worked late, and saw the young lady of the house cooking shirtless and she was a young master".

Wan Mo facepalmed mentally.

" Does anyone know about this?"

The maid shook her head.

" No, if I told them, I would have competitors, brother Mo, I like you".

Wan Mo pointed at the guest room.

"We didn't have this conversation, no one must hear about this and what you saw; tomorrow morning, you're relocating".

The maid's eyes widened in horror

"No no brother Mo, I don't want to be away from you."

Wan Mo sighed "what's your name?"

"Zayan". The maid answered.

"Zayan.. this place isn't smiling, Let's say Zayan is a little flower surrounded by harsh flames".

Zayan immediately understood, then she blushed, brother Mo is thinking of her wellbeing.

Wan Mo looked at this person in front of him, smiling without a reason, he didn't say anything funny did he?!.
