Far beyond the reaches of man or map, in a land the earth itself has forgotten, a broken temple stood. Its walls bled when the wind touched them. Its torches burned black. No priests. No prayers. Only one breath.
A soundless inhale — and the Soul Slayer emerged.
Ten feet tall, yet weightless. Cloaked in rotting shadows that moved like smoke. Eyes deeper than death. Lips curled in a grin that should not exist. His hands were not hands — they were hunger. He walked slowly, through the bones of kings and children alike. Each step erased the memory of the land itself. He did not exist. And yet… he was coming.
"They call him god," he whispered to the stone. "But I… I consume gods."
Rayyan leaned over the command screen on Mirshad's island. The satellite feed blinked out again — another city in Argentina. Gone. No bomb. No sound. Just nothing. "This is the third district in three days," Rayyan muttered. Malik's voice was tense. "Same black mark?" Sirius confirmed. The symbol appeared — etched into solid steel, glass, earth. Always the same.
"HE WHO OWNS THE DARKNESS HAS ARRIVED."
Jabir exhaled. "This isn't a man. This is a curse." Amir added, "So, what now? Hunt the ghost?" Mirshad stood in silence, behind them all. He stared at the symbol on the screen. He didn't blink. Then, "No." "We don't chase him." They all turned. "We invite him."
Back in the shadowed corners of the world, another village fell. No sound. Just silence. And a scream that echoed only in the soul — not in the air. The Soul Slayer walked calmly between houses, placing a single finger on the walls. The homes vanished. Not destroyed. Forgotten. Inside him — were souls. Trapped. Crying. Eternal. "One by one," he murmured. "Until the god loses his hope…"
Baba stood beside Mirshad. "This enemy is different. You don't see him. You don't hear him. You just feel… colder." Mirshad looked at the sky. His voice was calm, but colder than steel. "I'll make him feel something too." He turned to Rayyan. "Mobilize the Reapers. Create global energy barriers. Seal every major city. And tell our people this…" "Do not fear the dark…" "Because light is watching now."
In the middle of a blackened valley, the Soul Slayer stopped walking. He lifted his head to the wind. And smiled. "Yes," he hissed. "That's it…" "Call me." "Shine your little light, god…" "Let me show you what even stars fear to see." Back on the island, Mirshad turned toward the horizon. The sky began to dim. Not from sunset. From something else. "He's coming," he said softly. "And this time… I'm not just waiting."
