Chapter 78 - Chapter 76: Invisible

"Maia"

Maia peered up from Marvyll's embrace to face Damian who was kneeling right in front of her. His eyes brimming with tears, and his face the mask of relief as she stared back at him. She had cried, no, she was still crying. All of it had come rushing to her, the games, the lies, her death, the people she had killed, Machai, her mother. Everything she endured, she was finally able to let it out.

It was because she had seen Marvyll. Her gaze left Damian and met that of hers. Of the cat-like eye of hers hiding behind her eyeglasses. The realization that she wasn't the only one who looked like a mutant dawned on her and snapped all of the remaining self-control she had. She had cried louder then.

Not just for all of her pain and suffering, but for the same exact amount of it that her siblings had gone through. For the pain of knowing that Marvyll was watching her as she suffered in the Fronthouse.

Maia got out of Marvyll's embrace and wrapped her arms around Damian's neck as she hugged him. Damian's arms immediately wrapped around her waist as he cradled her. His mouth dropped to plant a kiss in her hair as he caressed her cheeks. She buried her own face deeper in his chest.

"It's fine to let it all out. We're all here"

He murmured in her hair but Maia wasn't crying anymore. She had let everything out in the open and now she finally felt as if a weight had been lifted. But she appreciated that Damian hadn't asked her anything like he already knew what was going through her head.

The siblings who were watching them finally stepped out into the clearing the moment Marvyll stood up to face them. She smiled at them but said not one word when she saw their shocked expressions. She let her siblings stare at her eyes a little longer before she avoided their gazes.

It was Makoto who broke out of their line and walked up to her, opening his arms to embrace her.

"You idiot"

Was his only words as he embraced her tightly. Marvyll chuckled as she returned the hug.

"I have many stories to tell now"

"Of course you do"

Makoto chuckled before patting her in the back. Marvyll looked back at her siblings and settled on Maki who was now also walking towards her.

"It was you. That same voice I heard in my head it was you"

Marvyll smiled at him.

"Hello youngest. I hope you're doing well now"

Maki smiled and nodded before asking.

"Why didn't you show yourself to us when we ran away?"

Maki wondered about it. If Marvyll could remember them then surely she could have shown herself when they ran away from the fronthouse. But she didn't, instead she was lingering around here. In Lithuania.

"I had things to do and even if I did go with you, you wouldn't know me, both of you wouldn't"

Marvyll answered as her gaze went back to Maia only to find her ruby red eyes settling on her. Oddly enough, she found comfort in staring at Maia's eyes.

"It's best if we talk somewhere else. It's not safe here. Just earlier, a bunch of soldiers were roaming around the area"

Marvyll announced to the group, but the three older siblings hadn't dared to move. Their eyes were fixated at her, staring at her like she was some kind of ghost. Finally Marvyll let out a sigh as she said.

"I'll explain everything so for now please come with me"

Maddin was the first one to break, her tears rolling down her face as the rest of the group panicked. But Maddin's tears continued streaming down her face.

"Ate? What's wrong?"

Marvyll asked anxiously as she stared at her older sister.

"I should be the one asking you that"

She murmured as she crossed the distance between them and enveloped Marvyll into an embrace. Her blonde hair mixed with Marvyll's brown one as she kissed her younger sister atop her head.

"You've been through a lot"

Maddin said before a much larger arm enveloped the both of them as Magnus hugged them. His expression hidden as he buried his face atop Maddin's head.

"Hi Kuya"

Marvyll laughingly greeted Magnus as tears started streaming down her face too. She knew that Magnus was crying too. It was the way he hid his face that made her so sure. He had always been like that. She then faced Maddox who only ruffled her hair as he said.

"You've grown up Kiddo"

Maddox smiled at her to which she gladly returned before his gaze landed on Maia who was only staring at them.

Maddox took one step towards Damian and Maia and knelt in front of them. When his eyes met Maia's he asked.

"Are you okay?"

Everyone held their breath as Maia bit her lower lip to stifle another sob and slowly nodded. Maddox let out a sigh as he opened his arms and without another word between them, Maia went into his embrace.

This hug was so much different from their initial one and Maki could feel it. Maddox was genuinely worried for Maia and this time, he was staring and embracing his youngest sister, not a mutant that he despises.

Maki smiled as he felt Makoto's arm going around his shoulders as they stared at everyone. Now, they are finally complete.

***

Everyone felt their own breaths hitch as they scanned the scene unfolding right before their eyes. Across the river of Lithuania, in the known ruined city of Fleur, what had looked like a city covered in briars and trees, lived countless families and people.

What was thought a ruined city was a cover up for the true city of Fleur. A city hidden underneath large tree foliages and buildings covered in briars and vines. With paths inaccessible for any kind of vehicle laid a city untouched by the government.

A sanctuary that had been preserved and rebuilt to accept those that need it.

A city with its own army and weapons ready to strike back once an opportunity rises.

"Welcome to Fleur City everyone"

Marvyll grinned as her siblings' shocked expression filled her.

"Now, shall we start the story?"
