Before them stood a cloaked person, their voice wasn't any familiar. It felt almost scrappy and with a light echo as if produced by a machine or altered. Their face was hidden, they were just a bit taller than the girls, lifting their hand up their cloak slid down revealing the skin underneath. Light traces of scales and a greenish hue to it, it wasn't common for people of this city to have nor this region. Mira had heard from Galadriel and Euthykritos that the land here functions similar to the land masses most are used to. Yet here all of it is under the ocean, split into huge chunks of lands and islands, accompanied by underwater oceans, lakes and rivers. They were probably from another land around here, maybe kingdom. "Oh.. You're not from around here, are you? I mean.. This planet. Leave at once.. Don't show your filthy existence before me. You specifically." The cloaked being spoke, their finger pointed at Mira. "I'm giving you the chance to turn away. Leave." Their tone was commanding, their hand sliding into their cloak.
"Leave? Who even are you? You're not supposed to be here either.." Mira spoke up, clutching the handle of her sword. The cloaked person seemed displeased by the response Mira had given her, pulling out 3 far too familiar crystal spheres, but those ones were smaller than the one they saw in the room. "Disappear from my sight." They threw the orbs forward, turning their back on the girls as the person disappeared deeper into the facility. Suddenly the orbs exploded into large root like tentacles made from a wooden like material. Without a second to react they grabbed the girls, slamming them through countless walls, back into the mine. With a loud burst they were back out in the surface, their bodies dragged along the ground. Mira clutched her sword pulling it out as with a quick motion she swung her sword through the root holding her, slicing it. Falling to the ground with a small thud, she rose up slicing the root holding Galadriel, catching the girl in her arms. She slowly laid Galadriel on the ground, sharp pain shooting through her whole body, but she wasn't going to just fall over. Galadriel seemed to have lost consciousness. The ground shook as more roots erupted from around them.
"This must be a sick joke.." Mira huffed out, a warm liquid slowly sliding down her arm. She knew she had no time to stop the bleeding. One after another the roots flung themselves at the girls. Mira moved before her mind could process her body screaming at her as she sliced one after another through the roots. The second she stopped one, another came. More erupted from the ground, circling the girls. It felt as if her lungs were getting squeezed, unable to catch her breath, beads of sweat rolling down her body as more and more came. Suddenly two roots slammed straight into her, her blade barely moving in time to block them. With a quick move she sliced through the two roots, her eyes darting between the roots and Galadriel. "I can't.. No matter what.." She chocked on thin air as she mumbled to herself. Her exhaustion catching up along with her tattered up body. The roots towered above them, multiple slamming, sliding and tearing their way towards the girls. Mira felt as if her mind was a blur, her vision fading as her body remained moving. Her mind plunged into the depths, cool and dark like the bottom of a endless ocean.
Mira's eyes opened to a familiar sight, the pedestal which is now empty, the once familiar sword gone from its placement. With a slow creak a door opened just a little further ahead, a soft inviting golden glow pouring out. Without much hesitation she headed for the door, stepping past it out into a lush garden. Basking in the soft sunlight, stood a bench, accompanied by someone sitting on it. Around were lush trees, bushes, the soft floral scent mingling in the air as it hit Mira's nostrils. She neared the bench, quietly taking seat next to the person. Their long white hair cascading down their slim body, dressed in a simple white summer like dress. Yet no matter how much Mira tried, she couldn't make out the woman's face. All of this felt awfully peaceful, yet ever so often a image flashed through her mind.
"What a pleasant sight, is it not? When had it last been since it was this peaceful? Mira.. Close your eyes, listen to my voice and let it guide your mind." No matter how much Mira wished she would find a reason not do so, she couldn't. Her mind, her heart, it believed this person fully. Slowly her eyes fell shut plunged into the familiar darkness. "You still wish to atone, do you not? Even this world, it looks down upon you. No matter where your foot crosses, all in this world, this reality, they wish for your disappearance. Yet you must know that it is not the truth.. She shines, doesn't she? That very own reason makes you wish.." But Mira wasn't listening anymore, the gentle warmth spreading through her body, soothing and calming.
Slowly the world comes into vision, "Ah.. It seems I worried for no reason." The thought ran through her mind as she saw Galadriel looking down at her. Worried as she pulled Mira up into a sitting position. "Mira! You're fine.. That's good.." Galadriel felt a soft breath of relief leave her lips as she kept looking down at Mira. The roots were gone, only the aftermath of them being ever there is left behind. The ground torn and splatters of blood and chunks of the roots laying around. Galadriel quietly helped Mira up onto her feet, pulling her against the side of her body as they began limping back towards the town. "Let's head back, okay?" Mira nodded slowly at Galadriel's word, the soft lights of the town eventually coming into sight.
