The name came from a book that Jason had read a long time ago about a wandering warrior who found himself trapped in a winter wasteland, and for some reason it just seemed to fit. Jason heard a loud bellow echo from within his Alternate Dimension as the beast appreciated the name, and Jason grinned at the approval, and he decided that this would be the Beast's new name.
