The moment Ivy said the word "husband," all of Silas's anger vanished into thin air, and a foolish smile immediately spread across his face.
Meanwhile, Valer stared at him.
"He is your husband?"
He gave Silas a slow once-over, his expression becoming increasingly strange, almost as though he were deeply disappointed by Ivy's choice.
Silas narrowed his eyes. 'What does this guy mean by looking at me like that?'
He suddenly turned toward Ivy. "If this guy disrespects me again, we are leaving."
Ivy quickly grabbed his arm and smiled awkwardly. "Please do not take his judgment to heart. It has simply become a habit of his."
Valer cleared his throat and straightened his clothes. "I will take my leave first."
He genuinely seemed worried that he might say or do something else that could offend Ivy or provoke Silas, so he quickly left.
For the next two days, Valer was mainly occupied with investigating Ivy's identity.
