After that incident, Shuu Tsukiyama lay low for a while. Shiraha didn't see Shuu Tsukiyama visit Anteiku again, and Kaneki Ken was no longer bothered by him.
Life continued its mundane course. One day, Madam Ryoko took Hinami out. Shiraha wasn't working today; he had gone out with Renji Yoshimura early in the morning on some business.
Kaneki Ken happened to be on his day off today, so he wasn't at the shop.
However, the shop wasn't short-handed. With Nishio Nishiki's addition, Anteiku had a surplus of staff.
So, even without Shiraha and Kaneki Ken, the shop still had Kousen Yoshimura, Touka Kirishima, Irimi Kaya, Enji Koma, and Nishio Nishiki.
"Madam Ryoko, it's probably best not to go out at this time!" Touka Kirishima advised when she saw Madam Ryoko about to take Hinami out.
"I'm just taking Hinami to a bookstore and will be right back. We'll be fine! We'll be careful!" Madam Ryoko replied.
"Sister Touka, we'll be back after buying books! Don't worry too much!" Hinami added at this moment.
Madam Ryoko didn't really have a strong desire to go out. The main reason was that Hinami wanted to go to a bookstore to buy some books to read. As a mother, Madam Ryoko naturally wanted to fulfill her daughter's small request.

Hearing this, Madam Ryoko looked in the direction Hinami was pointing and indeed saw Kaneki Ken, who worked at Anteiku.
Then, Madam Ryoko brought Hinami to Kaneki Ken. Hinami proactively started chatting with Kaneki Ken.
Kaneki Ken was also very surprised to run into Madam Ryoko and Hinami at the bookstore.
After chatting with Kaneki Ken for a while, Hinami, to avoid worrying her father and Touka Kirishima, bid farewell to Kaneki Ken and returned with the books she had purchased.
Kaneki Ken showed no intention of leaving and continued to stay at the bookstore, reading.
On the way back, Madam Ryoko saw many CCG personnel patrolling the streets. Madam Ryoko immediately became flustered. She tightly grabbed Hinami's hand and intended to turn back to avoid the CCG and return to the bookstore to take shelter. At the very least, Kaneki Ken was still at the bookstore, and being with him would provide some support, which was Madam Ryoko's immediate thought.
