Wind Release: Pinpoint Shockwave
BOOM!
A large amount of wind-natured chakra instantly gathered before the tip of Seimei's index finger. The Jonin, still paralyzed, could feel the sheer lethal force behind it.
Then, in less than a few milliseconds, the highly compressed wind detonated with all its might, driving the immense force directly into the Jonin's chest.
What would happen if a tremendous amount of force erupted in the span of a very short time and concentrated all its power in a very small area?
It could even tear iron sheets apart like paper.
And the Jonin's fate wasn't any different either.
Squelch!
The ninjutsu's focused shockwave tore through the Jonin's chest like a highly compressed air cannon punching through all obstacles, leaving a bloody, fish-sized hole in the ninja's left chest.
His heart was crushed into nothingness. His left ribs and lung were obliterated.
Bang…!
Next came the secondary, ring-shaped shockwaves, which threw his broken body like a cannonball toward the sword-wielding Jonin who was trying to come to his aid.
"What?!"
Seeing Seimei's ninjutsu hurling his comrade's body like a human cannonball, the Jonin's expression froze for a moment.
But his combat instincts swiftly kicked in.
He wanted to help his comrade. But if he were to be hit by his comrade's body now, he would surely suffer from concussive injuries. Moreover, there wasn't enough time to form hand seals and cast ninjutsu to catch his fellow ninja's body without harming himself.
So…
Without any hesitation, he quickly jumped sideways and dodged his comrade's body.
As his comrade's body passed by, it also left behind a trail of blood originating from the gaping hole in his body, which the sword-wielding Jonin didn't miss.
He could easily deduce that his comrade wouldn't survive.
Pain, grief, anger, hatred, killing intent—all kinds of emotions flashed in his eyes as he stared at the white-haired boy standing with his index finger still stretched.
He wanted nothing more than to cripple this boy, torture him, and grant him a slow, agonizing death. He wanted to make the boy suffer so much that he begged for death.
But it clearly wasn't possible.
If he wanted to stay alive and complete his mission, he needed to kill the boy as soon as possible.
At that moment, Seimei watched the sword-wielding Jonin and smiled. "Well, I have to say, your friend was quite fragile. He died too quickly."
These words completely lit the fuse.
The Jonin immediately charged at Seimei and appeared before him in a flash.
Whoosh!
His sword turned red-hot by the fire-natured chakra flowing through the blade, distorting the air around its edges.
"Die, you fiend!"
Tongues of orange-red flames swirled around the blade as the Jonin brought his blade down, attempting to slice Seimei's body in half.
Seimei watched the scorching blade getting closer without a hint of worry in his eyes.
He even had the time and audacity to mock his attacker viciously in his mind.
Fiend? Who? Me? What kind of baseless slander is this? I only killed a few chakra beasts, bandits, rogue ninjas, traitors, and some ninjas from other hidden villages that invaded the Land of Fire with ill intent. I am simply a model, law-abiding citizen.
Isn't this you, inherently evil Kumogakure bastards, who are acting like bandits and wreaking havoc here and there?
As Seimei kept mocking the Kumogakure ninjas in his mind, the scorching-hot blade came within inches of the clothes on his right shoulder. But Seimei remained unfazed.
Soon, the enemy Jonin's blade cut through Seimei's body.
Squelch! Puchi!
Seeing his attack succeed, the Jonin's eyes lit up for a moment.
But at the very next moment, his expression became ugly.
Because Seimei, whose flesh and bones should have been sliced by the edge of his red-hot blade, turned into countless cherry blossoms and disappeared from the spot.
After witnessing this, if he didn't understand what actually happened, then he would really be an incompetent ninja.
"Genjutsu," the Jonin murmured involuntarily.
He had fallen into Genjutsu.
Once he reached this conclusion, he immediately disrupted his own chakra flow to free himself from any lingering effects of Genjutsu.
The boy was very eerie and unpredictable.
What if the cherry blossom wasn't the end of his Genjutsu? What if there were more?
He'd better be safe than sorry.
Just as he was about to search for his target, a familiar yet chillingly calm voice came from behind.
"Indeed, it was a Genjutsu. You have answered correctly. You deserve a prize. Well, here it is."
The voice sent chills down the Jonin's spine.
Behind me!
The Jonin thought inwardly as he quickly tried to turn around while jumping away from Seimei's reach.
But to his horror, his body and feet just wouldn't move. It was as if something had paralyzed his entire body and bound him.
When he tried to unleash his chakra to break free from whatever was binding him, he immediately despaired. His chakra wasn't responding to him anymore.
From the corner of his eye, he watched several ugly black lines covering his entire body like a hideous tattoo.
With great difficulty, he spoke, "What? What is this?"
"Oh? That's nothing, just some minor seals—Self-Cursing Seal and Chakra Suppression Seal, to be exact. This nifty little combo is pretty effective, wouldn't you agree?"
Seimei's amused voice rang again, only making the Jonin's already dreaded, ugly face uglier.
The Jonin was about to say something, but Seimei spoke first. "Oh well, time to give you the gift."
The moment Seimei said that, he swiftly drove a kunai into the ninja's back and twisted it. The kunai pierced his flesh, ruptured his heart, and its tip came out from the left side of his chest, carrying a copious amount of blood.
Due to the seal's restriction, the Jonin couldn't even scream properly before the light faded from his eyes.
Until the moment of his death, he couldn't understand one thing: why the heck did the fifth Jonin launch an attack on Seimei this entire time?
However, he was bound to die without the answer.
Thud!
Within a second, his legs lost their strength. His body fell on the ground with a thud. He died with his eyes open.
Seeing this, Seimei couldn't help but mock, "Oh my! My gift got you so excited that your heart stopped, literally."
Four Jonin who encircled him had died.
Oh no, it was actually five.
As for the last one that never showed up to attack Seimei…
Having a shadow clone drag him underground and making the place his grave was indeed a good plan. Clean. Silent. Efficient.
Seimei thought inwardly, metaphorically patted his back, and gave his shadow clone a thumbs-up.
"However…"
Seimei muttered with a calm expression.
Lightning Release: Thunder Body Flicker
Crackle!
And in the very next moment, a surge of purple lightning arcs flickered into existence, wrapping his legs and body in lightning-natured chakra, immediately boosting his cellular activity to a whole new level.
In a flash of lightning, Seimei's figure suddenly disappeared from the spot, leaving behind a trail of lightning.
In less than a fifth of a second, two deep-blue lightning spears smashed into the ground at Seimei's previous position and detonated.
BOOOM!!! Crackle!
Deadly explosive shockwaves and violent lightning bolts tore open a crater in the ground and charred the very earth with high-voltage electricity. Several spider-web-like cracks spread around the crater.
Seimei used Tenseigan to witness the damage left behind by the lightning spears.
Meanwhile, his gaze fell on the ninja responsible for the sneak attack.
Who could it be other than Ryohei, one of the leaders of the 'Bandit' group?
Finally, this sneaky bastard couldn't help but take action himself, I see. Understandable. If he didn't, he would have to see his subordinates die. But that's good, too. It's about time I took down the leader and crushed their morale completely. This way, interrogating the captives will be a notch easier, I hope.
While Seimei was preparing to take action against the enemy leaders, thirty Genin and twelve Chunin-level ninjas, led by two full-fledged Jonin and five Special Jonin-level Shinobi, slowly crept toward Genzo and the mysterious caravan protected by Reina, Natsumi, Fukada Ren, and ten other hired ninjas and samurai.
If they left Uchiha Reina and Hyuga Natsumi out of the equation, the opposing group could easily overwhelm Genzo and his ninja and samurai guards.
Obviously, they didn't know that.
They only treated the two girls as young prodigies with too much chakra. After all, having more chakra than actual skills was practically common, especially in Konoha.
You want proof?
Fine.
Just look at those Senju clan ninjas.
Grab a random Chunin from their clan, and you will find that he/she has more chakra than an average civilian Jonin.
If they were given no chance to utilize their vast chakra or strong physique, could they match a Jonin?
Definitely not.
As for the two girls being as much of a cheat-tier anomaly as Seimei…
Impossible! Absolutely impossible!
How could there be so many anomalies and coincidences in the world?
If there were, anomalies wouldn't be treated as anomalies.
Surely, those two girls wouldn't burst with Elite Jonin-level combat power.
Even so, to ensure smooth operation, the enemy ninjas crept toward Genzo and his caravans slowly, stealthily.
That white-haired freak (Seimei) and many of the civilian, samurai, and ninja guards hired by Genzo focused on the front lines.
As long as they could be quick, they could achieve their goal.
Unfortunately, their dark movements had already been seen through by Natsumi, who had already notified Reina of the approaching enemies, their numbers, and expected combat strength.
Hearing this, Reina smiled. Her Sharingan flared to life—three distinct tomoe rotated in each of her crimson irises.
"So, they have another group of rats hiding here, huh?" Reina said. Her pupils shone with an eerie red light. "Good. I can also stretch my limbs and deal with them while I am at it."
