"Ms. Chappelle, be careful." One of the bodyguards instantly grabbed Darcy by her hand and pulled her back.
Regaining her balance, Darcy instinctively raised her hand to smack him in his face.
The slap could be heard from a mile away.
"Where's Isaac?! Get that bastard to show himself! I know that you're trying to scare me and make a fool out of me by bringing me to this secluded place, right? That will never happen!" She cried hysterically.
At that very moment, she hated Isaac to the core. Even though he would give her the whole world, he would also go to great lengths to humiliate her when disobeyed. Hinting that she would be a nobody without him, he intended to remind her of her humble background.
Darcy was deeply agitated by her background, but there was nothing she could do about it. Deep down, she loathed him for treating her that way.
