"I need you to do something for me, Gray."
"What is it?" Gray's expression remained unchanged even with that. He raised a brow slightly, signaling for Alistair to continue speaking.
Alistair leaned forward. "There's someone you need to meet," he said in a low voice that only he and the attorney could hear.
"…" Gray couldn't say anything after that. His chest tightened, and he could only watch Alistair carefully.
Alistair's eyes held his despite everything.
"He's… my last straw in this matter," he continued. "The only one left who can still turn this around."
Gray's gaze sharpened almost imperceptibly at that. He swallowed the lump on his throat, and asked, "Is that so?" he said calmly.
Alistair nodded at it.
"Yes. I can't reach him anymore from here…" he added before lifting his cuffed hands slightly to show his current state to Gray. He lifted it for a moment before letting it fall back onto the table. "But you can."
