Chapter 131 - When Magic Meets Machine

Lilith had not hit this dragon during her outburst, because even if she broke her hands, it would not make him feel anything. "Daily skit… but this time the AI Figurine and I caused trouble and made Miss Witch pretty angry. There was nothing I could do, I lost control for a moment."

"Listen to me… I'm doing a very useful biological experiment on this dragon!"

To get Lilith to ease up, Bella began explaining, since they were not doing something pointless. Back when Belial was learning spells, he had once imagined an automatic spell-casting AI. That idea of spells releasing themselves never really left him, and after one experiment, Bella happened to see the results.

While passing by and seeing a pile of discarded circuit boards made by Belial, Bella used the Electronic Display to communicate. She barely managed it while resisting Belial's increasingly strong Fear Aura and heavy electromagnetic interference. That kind of Electromagnetic Pulse was effective not only against Ludwig but also against Bella, and it almost knocked her offline.

At first, she thought the dragon wanted to build some kind of giant mech. After circling around the idea for a long time, she wondered if it was mechanical ascension. Only later did she realize he planned to modify himself, aiming for genetic ascension. It was not exactly the same as Belial's thinking, but turning the body into a more efficient tool for releasing Magic made sense.

Although Bella often acted like a complete artificial idiot, this time her expertise finally matched the problem. "So, if I understand correctly… you want to create something similar to yourself on this dragon?"

Lilith frowned as she listened. After studying it, she barely understood what artificial intelligence was in Bella's case. Mages had explored similar topics, but comparing a mage's Mental Power to Computational Power meant the latter was limited, like simulating a computer on a computer.

Wasn't that pointless? This was not a hell war god, but the Lord splitting his own stats and only being able to fight low-level battles. "It's a bit different… this dragon isn't like mages. A large part of his abilities are currently idle, and we're just trying to use them."

"That's why I used instruments to measure his body before, but I almost got knocked offline by the triggered defense mechanism." If Bella herself were not sturdy enough, one Electromagnetic Pulse would have sent her back to core reboot.

After fusing with Godzilla Earth, Belial changed again. His appearance became more ferocious and angular, his scales thicker, and standing there he looked like a jagged mountain. His body size also grew rapidly once more.

Internally, since Belial was not like the original planetary G with highly metalized plant fibers, the electromagnetic force existed within his cells. From cells to organs, everything became stronger, muscle fibers thickened, and even internal organs gained more protection due to electromagnetic adhesion. His regeneration, already extreme, stacked further, meaning one would have to break through space-G-level defenses, then the body-soul unity from God of Destruction, then the surface electromagnetic shield and cellular adhesion just to hurt him.

His strength and weight soared, and several organs changed. The horns on his head and the wings on his back gained the ability to control gravity and further enhance electromagnetic force. A single flap could unleash large-scale Electromagnetic Pulse, and after fusing with two other Godzilla, it also carried extra energy interference.

He had to be very careful with his strength, because scratching anything felt like touching tofu. The electromagnetic shield on his surface not only provided defense but seemed to add a kind of disintegration field. As for Bella's plan, it was even bolder than Belial's original idea, which had only focused on the wings.

"Since every muscle fiber of this dragon carries electricity, I figured it's basically like a circuit board…" "If we're changing it, why not change everything? Why not remodel the entire dragon and use the whole body's computational power?"

Bella grew more excited as she spoke. "If this dragon's microscopic control could reach the cellular level, then maybe…"

"I think you're being a bit too extreme."

At the Gold Rank stage of cultivation, body and soul merge once, causing many strange changes, and many strong people had modified their bodies before. Carving spells into bloodlines or fusing powerful monster bloodlines were known practices. That could still be called modification, but replacing everything from head to toe, including the brain, hardly counted.

"Don't worry, we're not doing it all at once. I'll make a full blueprint first, make sure it works for every part, then modify things step by step."

Bella looked forward to the finished result. Once complete, Belial himself would be a dragon-shaped Magic Staff over a hundred meters long and nearly a hundred thousand tons. With his incredible conductivity, casting spells would be faster than thinking, like playing Tetris on a supercomputer.

However, the first measurements already caused a small accident. Even though the Nanometal instrument barely bypassed the surface shield with Belial's permission and pierced the muscle layer, it still triggered an automatic defense. The resulting magnetic surge destroyed the device and released a massive Electromagnetic Pulse.

Facing these two troublesome beings and their world-shaking plans, Lilith could only stay silent for a moment and sigh. "Your way of thinking really is… sigh, forget it…"

"You still don't quite understand how to use Mental Power. Anyway, stop these activities for now… I'll personally demonstrate it later." "Really…!"

"Ah… they should finally calm down."

Belial played with a glowing orb at his fingertips. "So I'm really the only one who can see it?"

That unnamed power was kneaded into a bright ball while the two were talking. He waved it in front of them to confirm they could not see it, then played with it like a ping-pong ball. He still had no idea what it was really good for.

"Thinking about it, whenever I fought those big enemies before, they all used this kind of power. How did they get those effects…"

Those opponents could turn things into bio-disaster scenes or become swarms that were hard to kill. Yet he, the Godzilla who defeated them all, could only use it like a useless light bulb that could not even light the way.

"You and the dragon… forget it. Bella, come with me. We're getting instruments."

Worried that the dragon might damage her precious Mental Power detection tools with a careless move, Lilith took precautions. Bella might not always be sharp, but she was still useful. "They left… If they can't even sense this power, how are they supposed to study it?"

Belial thought about rolling around out of boredom, but considering his weight, he gave up. Instead, he decided to poke something with his small tricks. "With three templates stacked, my microscopic control within the domain has improved a lot, and now I can also control electromagnetic force…"

He casually grabbed a bird from the sky. It flapped in panic inside his massive palm but could not escape the five pitch-black pillar-like fingers. It then dropped to the ground, trembling violently, as a vast will swept through every part of its body.

Every muscle and bone was taken apart from the inside out, down to individual atoms. Even for Belial, this was heavy work, since microscopic detail meant countless particles. His computational ability had improved, but he did not brute-force it. Instead, he recorded it as a template, copying the bird like a file.

After scanning every structure, he packed the data into his body, ready to copy and paste when needed. That was the logic of Magic. He then grabbed a handful of soil and began to load and unpack the data.

Spreading his wings, Belial expanded the Energy Field outward, covering nearly a thousand meters. Every blade of grass and tree around him seemed to assist him. "Magnetic field rotation…"

A powerful electromagnetic force dismantled the soil at the microscopic level and recombined it according to a fixed template. Flesh and bone grew from the earth, feathers extending outward, and a perfectly recreated bird crawled out of the soil. Even its panicked posture was identical, but it only stood there twitching, its bioelectricity slightly disordered.

Belial adjusted the bioelectric signals himself, helping it stand, spread its wings, and fly. "But it still doesn't work."

"Is something missing?"

His old materialist beliefs said identical processes should give identical results, but this was Otherworld, and something was off. The bird he created could move, but it was not life. He tilted his head and raised his perception higher.

The scene before him shifted from ordinary light to a chaotic field of light and darkness. Using the Wraith Constitution from God of Destruction, Belial looked directly at the soul, focusing on the core light and the gray memory field beside it. After thinking, he kneaded that useless light-and-dark power again and took a bit of the original bird's gray memory.

He gently pressed the dim light onto the fallen bird. It twitched, opened its eyes, and stood up. "Coo…"

It flew easily into the sky under Belial's gaze, traveling several kilometers. Then, as its body aged, it died naturally.

"Why have there been so many animals around here lately?" "No idea…"
