Elsewhere in the city, Kim Yoon-sung found himself in the middle of a plasma storm. He was fighting a group of three Troubles, larger and more aggressive than usual. They moved with a coordination Yoon-sung hadn't seen before, flanking him and attacking him from different angles.
Yoon-sung launched bursts of incandescent plasma, disintegrating two of the Troubles in a matter of seconds. But the third was more resilient. He dodged his attacks with surprising agility and drew ever closer, his sharp claws searching for a weak spot in their defense.
Yoon-sung knew he couldn't afford to be hit. Plasma energy was powerful, but also exhausting. If this fight went on too long, he'd run out of strength.
He remembered the day his powers had first appeared. He was twelve years old and in a park with his family when a Trouble attacked out of nowhere. He watched as the creature lunged at his little sister, and in that instant, intense energy surged from within him, burning the Trouble to ash. After that, nothing was the same. His parents were afraid of him, and people regarded him with suspicion. He learned to hide his abilities, to live in the shadows, fighting the Troubles in secret.
The remaining Trouble launched a surprise attack, leaping at him from a nearby rooftop. Yoon-sung reacted instinctively, generating a powerful plasma blast that struck the creature mid-flight. The Trouble screamed in pain and fell to the ground, vanishing into the darkness.
Yoon-sung stood there, his breath ragged, staring at the wreckage of the Troubles. This fight had been more difficult than usual. The enemy's coordination and stamina had pushed him to the limit. Something was changing. The Troubles were becoming more dangerous.
As he walked away, he felt a presence watching him from a distance. He turned quickly, ready to attack, but saw no one. However, the feeling persisted. He wasn't alone.
At that same moment, several kilometers away, Ryu Hyuk and Min-ah heard the approaching metallic noise of the warehouse. They hid behind some boxes, waiting to see who or what it was.
A figure emerged from the darkness. It was a tall, burly man, dressed in a dark uniform and carrying what appeared to be an energy weapon in his hands. He wasn't a Trouble. He was human. And he seemed to be searching for something.
"Who's that?" Min-ah whispered.
"I don't know," I replied. "But he doesn't seem friendly."
The man stopped in front of the machinery we'd been examining and began to manipulate it skillfully. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing.
"We have to stop him," Min-ah said. "We don't know what he's trying to do."
I nodded. It was time to face a new threat, a human threat that seemed to be somehow connected to the Troubles. And unbeknownst to them, their paths were about to cross with the reclusive Kim Yoon-sung, whose world was also becoming increasingly dangerous.
