Standing at the entrance, Si Nan placed Yige on top of the wardrobe and bent down to take out a pair of white lady's sandals from the shoe cabinet, half squatting in front of Yige to take off her shoes, holding her slightly cool feet and putting on the sandals for her.
Tang Yige looked down, quietly watching Si Nan.
Si Nan finished putting shoes on Yige, then took off his leather shoes and swapped them, turned around to close the door, and walked up to Yige.
Yige thought he was going to carry her inside, but he didn't.
Si Nan placed his hands on both sides of the shoe cabinet, leaning over to stare at her deeply.
Tang Yige's face looked frail, her shoulders slightly slumped, as if she could hardly sit up.
But the eyes she looked at Si Nan were still dark and bright.
"Why did you leave with me?" Si Nan asked her.
"Didn't you ask me to come down? I thought you wanted me to go with you. Was I mistaken?"
Tang Yige looked at him, her tone calm despite being weary.
