Summer Sutton held her own glass and tilted her face back to drink it all.
It seemed like she was trying to bolster her courage, drinking two or three glasses in succession.
Adrian Walyon was aware of her tolerance for alcohol and feared she might overdo it. He wanted to stop her, but Summer Sutton slowly stood up.
The corners of her lips curved into a smile, bright in the night like the fleeting bloom of a flower, yet indescribably bitter. "Adrian Walyon, I want to know, do you still love me?"
She no longer called him Watt, but Adrian Walyon.
Watt stared at her stiffly, saying nothing.
Summer Sutton stepped back two steps, arriving at the railing.
The sea breeze gently blew, brushing her face and tousling her hair, her red lips appearing even more enchanting in the night.
"If you love me, I want you to choose between me and the Winslow Family. Will you agree?"
After a pause, she suddenly added, "If you don't love me, then I'll jump from here!"
