"I want to take over my mother's company," Iris Harris looked at him, "What's wrong? Can't I?"
"Am I unable to support you, or won't I give you money to spend, or are you Holy Mary, working for free for someone else's company?" Brandan couldn't help but find it a bit amusing. Did she know what she was doing?
"Do you plan to stay in Lincoln forever? Are you not planning to come back to River City with me?"
Faced with Brandan's questioning, Iris was also a bit shocked.
"Brandan, I can't go back to River City with you right now." She softly explained to him, "Henry Ford made a huge mess of Clan Lester to force me into marriage. Melody Nelson and Nathan Nelson are too young now and lack the ability to protect themselves. I have to take responsibility, at least until Clan Lester is back on track before I can leave."
