Chapter 12 - CHAPTER 12: THE DESCENT OF THE HIDDEN IMMORTAL

---

The Descent of the Hidden Immortal

Within the silent confines of his abode, Ye Ling's eyes flickered with a sharp glint of decision. It was time to act.

He stood up, and with a silent thought, activated a technique he hadn't used in decades—Heavenly Mirage Transformation, a Heaven Peak Tier transformation technique obtained years ago through sign-in. His spiritual energy stirred, and his entire being began to change.

His long, slightly messy black hair turned silky and jet-dark, flowing like strands of the night sky. His once ordinary robe vanished, replaced by a Void Eclipse Cloak—a Heaven-tier artifact robe that shimmered with a deep, ethereal hue, like galaxies trapped within fabric. Over his face, he wore the Heavenly Mirror Mask, forged from a rare metal that deflected both spiritual sense and mortal gaze, obscuring his true identity.

And his body… after merging with the Primordial Dao Physique, reaching the peak of the Nascent Soul Realm, and consuming countless heaven-tier pills, he was no longer mortal in form.

His skin radiated a faint glow, as if carved from flawless jade by the hands of creation itself. His every feature—sharp yet serene, delicate yet powerful—seemed divinely balanced, a beauty that was not human but celestial. His presence was like a distant star descending to the mortal world, cold and divine, drawing reverence and awe without a single word.

This wasn't Ye Ling, the discarded heir of the Ye Clan.

This was an immortal incarnate.

Without alerting a single soul, he vanished into the shadows.

Inside the Patriarch's Residence

The air was still, filled with the lingering scent of old incense and dust. The room was modest but decorated with ancient paintings of past Patriarchs and landscapes of Ye Clan glory. Shelves lined the walls, filled with scrolls and relics of a forgotten time.

At the center of the chamber, on a jade bed surrounded by healing formations, lay the current Ye Clan Patriarch—Ye Tian.

He appeared in his forties, with long streaks of white in his hair, but in truth, his soul had endured over five hundred years. Extended by spiritual medicines and elixirs, his life had been devoted to holding the fragile clan together. Now, however, his face was pale, his breathing shallow—his spiritual core fractured and on the verge of collapse.

Without intervention, he wouldn't survive the night.

Ye Ling approached silently. With a flick of his wrist, he brought out a shimmering crystalline elixir—the Nine Revolution Life Origin Pill, a heaven-tier healing treasure refined from dozens of rare herbs enhanced through the system.

He gently poured it into the Patriarch's mouth, infusing it with his own spiritual energy.

Moments passed.

Then…

A faint light stirred in Ye Tian's chest. His spiritual core began mending itself, bit by bit, like a shattered mirror being restored by divine hands. His breathing stabilized. His skin regained color.

And then, his eyes fluttered open.

Blurry. Confused.

The first thing he saw was the tall, glowing silhouette of Ye Ling—no longer human in aura, but an ethereal figure wreathed in soft divine light. In his dazed state, the old Patriarch muttered weakly, "An… Immortal?"

Ye Ling raised his hand calmly, silencing him.

"Speak not, Elder Ye. You were on the verge of death."

His voice was deep and calm, like flowing spring water over ancient stones.

"I have no connection to your current Ye Clan… But many centuries ago, a member of your clan once assisted me when I was but a wandering soul, injured and pursued. The debt was never repaid."

Ye Tian's dazed eyes trembled.

"This pill… what was it…?"

Ye Ling turned his gaze slightly. "A Nine Revolution Life Origin Pill. Not only will it mend your spiritual core and extend your life, but it will help you break through your stagnation. You've been at the peak of Foundation Establishment for a hundred years… now, in a few weeks, you will step into the Core Formation Realm."

Ye Tian could hardly believe it. He had long accepted that his cultivation would never rise again. For someone to casually grant him not just a cure but a future—it was beyond comprehension.

"Why now?" he asked hoarsely.

Ye Ling replied softly, "Because your clan is at the edge. And I hate repaying favors late."

After a brief pause, Ye Ling placed a jade token on the table beside the bed.

"I will stabilize the situation with the Chan Clan. Don't ask how, or who I am. Just use your second chance wisely."

Before Ye Tian could speak again, the immortal-like figure stepped into the shadows—and vanished.

---

Outside the residence, night fell like a curtain over the Ye Clan. But within the shadows, an ancient force had begun to stir.

The tides of fate were shifting, and no one yet knew that a god-like figure had awakened to walk among mortals once more.
