Beckett Wright walked up to her and gently comforted her, "Avery Jane, don't be afraid. It should be the doctor who has arrived. I asked him to come and check on you again this morning."
After speaking, he got up and went to open the door.
But something seemed off.
Avery Jane keenly felt danger approaching her. He was very close to her, and through that door, she could almost smell his powerful aura—a kind of mature man's danger that was like poison but emitted a tempting desire...
The door was opened, and Avery Jane glanced nervously, breathing a sigh of relief. The doctor in a white shirt was holding a medical kit; it really was just the doctor.
Was she overreacting? But she clearly felt that oppressive feeling, as if he was already very close to her.
After the doctor came in, Beckett Wright was closing the door when suddenly a large hand pressed against it, and the door was pushed open.
The man standing outside almost scared Avery Jane out of her wits.
