Chen Kai was scared half to death. The man in sunglasses actually started walking in his direction. Did that mean he'd been discovered? If the guy spotted him, he was done for, he was definitely going to die. He'd stumbled onto someone committing murder; of course they'd kill him to silence him.
What to do?
Chen Kai was freaking out, drenched in sweat, and his lower back started hurting again.
He sadly realized that once again he was so nervous he couldn't move. All those scenes in novels or movies were lies. In this kind of situation, the characters could still jump up and run away—that was totally unrealistic.
The reality was, he was so scared his whole body went weak, his back hurt, he couldn't move at all, let alone jump up and run. He did want to run, but the problem was, he simply couldn't move.
If the man in sunglasses found him next, all he could do was watch helplessly as the guy beat him to death.
Fortunately, it turned out to be a false alarm.
