Little Dark spent the whole night shouting until her voice became hoarse before dawn, but the results of her efforts were gratifying. The leaders of Carlo's assembled faction dispersed, fleeing to various corners of the Praise Sanctuary, and some went to the extreme of burying their heads under their beds like ostriches.
Even so, Little Dark didn't stop. Although her voice was gone, she still had hands and feet. With the help of the old special effects master Bazatous, many people witnessed a streak of red light shining on a twin-tailed girl with eyes like black holes, who laughed maniacally as she chased them around the Circular Hall.
When dawn arrived, Little Dark's originally pale face had turned rosy with excitement.
She and Bazatous found a common language. She never expected that playing ghosts in the dark could be so fun, especially when those high-and-mighty faction leaders cried for their fathers and mothers when chased by her, filling her with a sense of achievement.
