"Lin Xingshi... can you still keep your eyes open?"
Lin Xingshi slowly opened her eyes and saw the Little Nian Beast gently reaching towards her with its paw. She couldn't speak; the vocal cords on half of her face and neck had been eroded by lightning.
"I'm about to die..." the Little Nian Beast rasped.
Lin Xingshi stared at the Little Nian Beast, tears slowly flowed from her eyes. She wanted to say something but couldn't make a sound.
"But I... don't want you to die," the Little Nian Beast suddenly whispered.
As it spoke, it extended its tiny paw into Lin Xingshi's palm, "I believe in you, do you believe in me?"
Lin Xingshi was taken aback for a moment.
At that moment, her Celestial Driver suddenly transformed into a fiery red rope, tightly connecting their palms.
The heavens and earth fell silent in an instant.
